From the perspective of key competencies, this paper aims at the cultivation of the ability of physics. With the purpose of promoting the cohesive physics teaching of junior and senior high schools,it clarifies the significance of students'ability development to the cohesive teaching of physics. It combines knowledge cohesion and ability cohesion to carry out the design and teaching practice Research of the cohesive teaching of geometric optics in junior and senior high schools. The development of subject ability is an indispensable part in the process of cultivating students'key competencies.Starting from five kinds of physics abilities such as physical imagination ability, physical thinking ability, physical operation ability, the ability to use physical knowledge and the ability to use scientific methods, this paper takes geometric optics as an example to study the design and practice of physics cohesion teaching in junior high school and senior high school, and to explore the effective ways of cohesion.Based on the recent development zone and constructivist theories, this paper summarizes the research status of key competencies at home and abroad and the research status of cohesive teaching guided by five kinds of competence literacy, and defines the key competencies of physics on this basis. In this paper, the optical part of junior high school and senior high school is taken as the main content of the cohesion research. This paper makes a comparative analysis of the curriculum standards and textbook contents of geometric optics in junior and senior high schools, and summarizes the different requirements of mastering the degree of reflection, refraction and plane mirror of light in geometric optics in junior and senior high schools,as well as the different emphasis on the content of geometric optics in junior and senior high school textbooks. This paper holds that the cohesion of geometric optics in junior and senior high schools should be based on the reflection of light and the refraction of light.Based on the framework of junior high school students'physical competence performance, this paper explores the feasible methods of competence assessment, and elaborates on the sources of 14 items of the test paper from five competence elements.Based on the core accomplishment of physics, the concept of cohesion and the concept of cultivating physical ability, the teaching design of reflecting light and refracting light in junior high school is carried out with teacher interviews. After two specific teaching practices in the experimental class and the contrasting class, this paper confirms the significance of the cohesive teaching effect through the Independent-Samples T Test, and carries out data analysis from the perspective of five ability elements:physical imagination ability, physical thinking ability, physical operation ability, the ability to use physical knowledge and the ability to use scientific methods.Combining with after-class learning interviews, the development and changes of students'five different ability elements in the experimental class are obtained. The main finding was that students in the experimental class have the most significant improvement in the ability of physical image processing which is a part of the physical operation ability, and the overall situation of the improvement of physical imagination ability is better. The students'physical imagination ability can be effectively trained with the help of examples of specific life scenes and visual models to simulate in teaching. The improvement of students'ability to use scientific methods is lower in the experimental class, and the improvement of physical thinking ability is the least significant. This study also shows that through self-exploration among groups of junior high school students, supplemented by problem-based instruction, students can find the quantitative relationship in physical laws, and can lay a good foundation for quantitative analysis of problems in senior high school. Finally, the results of this study are summarized.Several suggestions for junior high school teachers are put forward in combination with the practical process and results:utilize optical experiments to encourage students to design physical models;utilize group learning to promote thinking collisions combining with the frontier of science and technology;utilize analogical r-easoning,contact the real situation to get new knowledge;utilize the key concepts to convey emotional attitudes combining with the scientific methodology.
