Science and the human impact on the depth of all aspects of human life.Scientific education is very important to improve people's scientific literacy skills.China's latest version of the primary school compulsory education science curriculum standards promulgated in 2017.The United States enacted the next generation of science education standards as early as 2013.The adjustment of the curriculum standards is of great significance to the revision of science textbooks.This study studies the two editions of Chinese and American science textbooks from three aspects:overall and specific knowledge content,presentation methods,and scientific inquiry activities.And analysis found:In the overall knowledge content organization,the Qingdao version of science textbooks is mainly based on linear knowledge organization,and the scientific organization of American science textbooks is spiral type.The two emphasized on the reality of student life.Based on the content of the specific knowledge of the unit,through the comparison of the contents of the "earth and the universe" field,the two editions of textbooks cover the same scope of knowledge and focus on each other.The Qingdao version of science textbooks focuses on the theme of "the earth's outline and the material of the earth".Knowledge,American science textbooks pay attention to the study of the subject knowledge of "global movement and the changes caused".In the breadth,depth and difficulty of textbooks,American science textbooks are larger than Qingdao science textbooks.Compared with the Qingdao version of science textbooks,American science textbooks have distinctive features in language presentation,column design,and illustration arrangement.In the arrangement of scientific inquiry activities,American science textbooks focus on "practice".In the rigor and scientific nature of scientific inquiry activities,American science textbooks are superior to Qingdao science textbooks.Based on the above comparative analysis,it is suggested that in the preparation of the new edition of science textbooks,we can reasonably organize the contents of textbooks,pay attention to advanced learning;improve the presentation of textbooks,arrange rich columns,increase review and evaluation content;improve the presentation of scientific experiments,and pay attention to the science of experiments and rigor;focus on the development and use of supporting curriculum resources.
