Geography teaching concepts and teaching methods should advance with the times.It is necessary to construct a scientifically complementary curriculum system as a concept,and on this basis,explore new teaching methods to cultivate students'geographical core.Literacy,practical ability,and innovation can adapt to the needs of social talent training.STEAM integrates science,technology,engineering,art,and mathematics,and advocates that students use the knowledge they learn to solve real-world problems in real-life situations.This way to cultivate students'multi-faceted ability and literacy;The purpose of the research-based curriculum is to enhance students'research and innovation abilities,which is different from traditional subject courses.It is a new type of research-based curriculum within the scope of comprehensive practical activities.Therefore,this study combines the STEAM educational concept with the research-based curriculum teaching method and applies it to high school geography teaching to guide students to use the comprehensive knowledge of the various subjects in the geography curriculum to study or solve the reality.Problems and phenomena,in order to enhance students'practical research ability and strengthen the cultivation of students'geographical core.The main contents of this study are as follows:First,the literature analysis method is used to define the concepts related to STEAM education and research-based curriculum,and the use of STEAM education concept to assist the integration model,comprehensively use the knowledge of other disciplines to promote the study of geography,and choose The research-based curriculum is the implementation method of geography STEAM education;the second is to explore the structure of its curriculum teaching content,and according to its structure,the STEAM education application model classification and STEAM knowledge combing the teaching content of the new geography curriculum standard;the third is to select according to the combing teaching content.The two most common application modes are teaching design,discussing the teaching steps,and carrying out the actual teaching implementation;finally,designing the evaluation scale according to the teaching implementation process and steps,and comparing the teaching practice process and effect through the contrast experiment method and the teacher interview method.Conduct an evaluation.The results of this study indicate that:(1)Combining the STEAM education concept with the high school geography teaching,which is related to the comprehensive practical characteristics of the geography discipline,and this is conducive to cultivating students'core cultural literacy.At the same time,from the status of research-based courses,it can be known that the geography-based curriculum is a reasonable way to implement STEAM education,because it can stimulate students'enthusiasm for inquiry and enhance their interest in learning through the theme activities.The results of this study indicate that:(2)Through the analysis of the course content and the actual teaching design and implementation,it can be concluded from these aspects that the teaching of the high school geography research course under the STEAM educational concept is to a certain extent to cultivate students'good study habits.At the same time,it can also stimulate students'sense of innovation and enhance their geographical core literacy.However,the content of this course needs to be further improved in terms of content and organization.(3)Through interviews with experienced teachers,we can know that teachers have little knowledge of the STEAM concept in geography teaching in middle school.However,after the actual implementation,the teachers generally have a positive attitude towards the teaching of this course,and believe that the teaching method of the course is in line with the new curriculum reform concept.However,there are still some shortcomings in the teaching of this course.For example,this kind of teaching requires higher teaching resources,and also requires students to have certain initiative.In the course organization and teaching content,it needs to be further improved.The improvement is still uncertain.
