Problem-based Learning(PBL),as a problem-oriented teaching method aiming at improving problem-solving ability,has received the widespread attention in Information Technology.However,PBL demands higher ability of students' thinking,analysis and knowledge application.That often makes students feel unclear thinking and mind-set.Due to the complexity of problem itself,students cannot solve problems effectively.It's greatly hindered the enthusiasm of students.Mind mapping,as a visualization tool,have the unique role in organizing one's thoughts and information.Therefore,the author attempts to use the Mind mapping in Problem-based learning to boost students' capability of solving problems.Based on pervious literatures research achievements,let the author get a general understanding of the study actuality of Mind mapping and PBL,summarizes the practical experience and research ideas.Combines the actual situation in PBL and the key features of Mind mapping,this paper discusses the importance of problem-based learning by using Mind mapping.According to analyses the characteristics of PBL and the advantages of Mind mapping finds integrating points for them.Guided by the constructivism theory,the writer constructed the teaching procedure and designed the function of the Mind mapping,specifically for "solution focused","knowledge and information obvious","thinking visual".The research takes "Information Technology Foundation" as an example to discuss the rational teaching content for PBL.Then,choose the specific chapter to make the teaching design and carried it out in the teaching.By analysing the questionnaire survey,coursework and Mind mapping works,to test how well the Mind mapping was working.Turn to students' feedback and interview record for advice.The results of research indicate that Mind mapping can enhance the ability of students to solve information technology problems.Mainly displayed in improve their ability of utilization of knowledge and logical thinking.Students will be able to give several approaches for solving problems.In the Problem-based learning of information technology,it's a good idea to use the Mind mapping helps the student to solve problems.
