The junior high school course objectives of Information Technology put forward clearly that junior high school students have to consolidate, expand the foundation in learning Information Technology. Meanwhile, to develop a skill is the task in learning Information Technology, as practical software restricted by class time. But the present situation is that students’ learning time is occupied full by homework and papers. They have no opportunity to develop a skill of software.Through studying some software, the students get a sill and their academic knowledge is assisted by this skill, which is efficient for them. At the same time,brain science, brainstorming, the concept of education information is being advocated and promoted. A practical tool mentioned in Brainstorming is mind map which is proposed by Tony Buzan who is a British psychologist as a way of organizing information. It is said that the United States students from junior high school begin to use mind mapping software to organize notes, carry out autonomous learning, do homework as a habit. This habit is rare for Chinese students. Mind manager is a practical drawing software, what has powerful function, is a good finishing tool of thinking.Mind mapping concept produces some influence after be introduced to the field of education. The learning process based on the mind mapping especially well embodies the principles of constructive learning theory and the features of the flexible interaction.Another study showed that mind mapping is the expression of divergent thinking, what is the natural function of the human mind, is a useful graphical technique, known as the key to open the human thinking. In Tony Buzan’s early literature, he thought mind map can improve the efficiency of the brain, based on brain hemispheres catalytic theory.But it has been related research theory as hemispheres a misconception.In order to carry out the following research,I put “teaching mode based on mind mapping” as the main line. Firstly, I collect and sort the relevant dates to explore the application of mind maps in Information Technology of junior middle school.Secondly, using mind map as a tool can optimize students’ learning efficiency and improve their academic performance. Thirdly, expound the processing of mind map assisting teachers and students, according to the case teaching of “basic knowledge of network”.Finally, investigating the teaching result and students’ attitudes, on the one hand, is in order to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of mind mapping on junior high school Information Technology, on the other hand to accumulate experience,learn a lesson, provide some reference that mind mapping can work as a teaching tool or not on Information Technology. And the study results can be shared to our Information Technology teachers, as a successful example, or a warning.Teaching practice shows that mind maps in the junior high school Information Technology has limitations, and can effectively improve the students’ interests in learning, improve grades significantly. But the students have mastered a tool, which can help them learn, be used in other disciplines of life planning, etc.
