As one of the extracurricular art groups in the primary school,the wind band is an important part of the school’s art education.Through participating in the orchestra ensemble,students could develop teamwork spirit and creative thinking.The trumpet is one of the important parts in a wind band.For primary school students,learning trumpet is in favor of improving their physical coordination,respiration ability,emotional performance and willpower.Besides,it is crucial for improving their appreciation of music and aesthetic awareness.Under the background of the extracurricular wing band teaching in the primary school,the research object of this study is the students of the trumpet in the wind band of Jingxi campus of the High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University.The research is about the practical teaching.By using the classroom observation and case study,the research summarizes the generable problems during the trumpet training and performance,and proposes relevant training methods.Then through interviews with students and orchestra ensemble conductors,the research gives feedback on teaching problems,and proposes relevant teaching suggestions after reflection.There are four parts in this thesis.The first part,the introduction mainly introduces the reasons,significance and research methods of the selected topic,and reviews the literature about the teaching of trumpet and orchestra.The second part gives an overview of the development of the trumpet,types of the trumpet and function of it in a wind band,and details about the current situation of the Jingxi campus’s wind band.The third part is the author’s specific teaching practice of the trumpet.Through the case study of the trumpet lesson,including the breath,the mouth shape,the mouthpiece,performing posture,basic practice of Etude,and the case study of the orchestra ensemble including trumpet and other parts,this thesis summarizes the problems that students are likely to produce in the performance and proposes relevant training methods.The fourth part interviews the students of trumpet in this wind band and the orchestra ensemble conductors,the author gives feedback on the problems in the teaching results.Then the author puts forward five teaching suggestions by analyzing the problems deeply and reflecting.Follows are the five suggestions:first,students should pay attention to the warm-up about the breath before the class,so that they could have a good state of performance earlier;second,teachers should strengthen the demonstration teaching in class,in order to stimulate students’interest in learning their learning motivation;third,students should adhere to daily practice after class so as to consolidate their basic skills and effectively improve their ability to perform;fourth,students should strengthen their reading ability of the musical notation to improve their music knowledge comprehensively;fifth,diverse orchestra ensembles should be developed for the sake of the cultivation of students’ basic abilities of orchestra ensemble.
