The education in China is constantly developing towards modernization and internationalization.Pursuing educational democracy and educational equity is the proper meaning of China's elementary education reform.Gender equity,which is the most important part of educational equity,however is frequently overlooked.Therefore,we should scrutinize the current educational phenomenon from a gender perspective and reflect on the hidden gender inequality in education.So that education can play a more greater role in the process of achieving social democracy and equality.Teachers are the most important participants in promoting gender equality during educational processes.The gender awareness of teachers directly affects the formation of students'gender awareness and self-identification,which will affects the development of students'healthy personality and the academic achievement.What's more,the teachers'gender awareness will also affects the renewal of gender awareness for the whole society.However,by looking over the relevant researches in China,we could easily find out that the gender awareness of majority of primary school teachers still needs to be improved.Therefore,it is particularly important to conduct further research on teachers'gender awareness.The article is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction which mainly introduce the background and significance of this research.The literature review,research ideas and methods will also be included in the first part.The second part mainly introduces the concept of key words and theoretical basis of this research.By giving definition of the key words,this part aims to explain the main contents of gender theory and its influence on the development of educational theory.The third part is the investigation and study on teachers'gender awareness of Xi'an public primary schools.The investigation includes a questionnaire and interviews of teachers.By analyzing the status,this part tries to conclude the situation of primary school teachers'gender awareness.What's more,it starts to figure out how teachers'gender awareness affects students.The forth part is about the necessity and ways to improve teachers'gender awareness.This part mainly focuses on the problems revealed in the questionnaire survey and discusses the necessity and urgency of improving teachers'gender awareness.And also explores effective ways to reinforce teachers'gender awareness.In short,when it comes to reinforce the teachers' gender awareness and to achieve gender equity in educational practices,it's known that this process needs the efforts of all the education decision makers,school leaders,researchers and teachers.In another word,it needs the whole society to make great efforts to realize it.As a teacher,we must learn more about gender-related knowledge.Only by improving our gender awareness can we actively reflect on teaching process and eliminate the negative influence of gender bias on students.And also it's our duty to provide a fair platform for all students.development of gender consciousness and gender identity.Students need us to support their development of gender awareness and self-identity.Thus,we need to make great efforts to build a more inclusive and free gender culture so that all the students could achieve more equal and free development.
