As it is an essential part of the Chinese language curriculum,the Chinese ancient poetry and classical article become the compulsory testing content in the College Entrance Examination.However,with the curriculum reforms of the primary education and the changes of the curriculum criteria of Chinese in our country during the latest century,its selection and proposition in the high school textbooks and the College Entrance Examination has changed accordingly.So,this paper is focusing on what changes of the selection and proposition having been made and how much of them having been accepted.In this paper,chapter one mainly analyzes the proposition standards of the Chinese ancient poetry and classical article reading in the College Entrance Examination.It is mainly the Chinese curriculum criteria and the examination syllabus and Chinese textbooks.According to the Chinese curriculum criteria and the examination syllabus,the main standard of the material selection is "simple and easy",the style of material selection is typical of the Chinese ancient classical article,the morphology and syntax are common,the connection between the selected text and the background knowledge of The Times is not strong,the content should conform to the reading psychology of middle school students,the academic and professional should not be too strong.And the reading examination aims to test students' three abilities:understanding,analyzing and appreciating.Chapter two tries to summarize the content characters of the reading by researching all the Chinese papers of College Entrance Examination from 2000 to 2018 mainly from two dimensions:material selection and question creation,and check the consistency of the reading and the examination syllabus by using Porter's Consistency Analysis Method,and also analyze the quality and validity of the reading content.It turns out that biographical prose and verse take the primacy among all the Chinese ancient classical articles and poetry,while Sanqu poetry is rarely tested.The reading quantity keeps being stable after a general increase at the beginning of the century;the questions form,score and quantity also become stable although they changed a lot at the very beginning,and the ancient classical article reading has relatively stable knowledge and ability dimensions while ancient poetry reading has a very broad and varied knowledge dimension but its ability dimension is also stable.The consistency coefficient of the reading and examination syllabus is about 0.75,and reading materials have good quality and validity.The chapter three analyzes the current situation(2018)of the Chinese ancient poetry and classical article reading in the College Entrance Examination.Based on a questionnaire with the front-line teachers and students,and the compare and contrast of the reading between the 2018 College Entrance Examination paper in the mainland and the academic test in the Taiwan province of China,this paper found that the front-line teachers and students are satisfied with the current reading test but also there is still room for improvement,however,there are many differences of the reading test between the College Entrance Examination in the mainland and the academic test in the Taiwan province of China;and there are some points of the academic test in the Taiwan province worth learning.The chapter four tries to put forward some suggestions of improving the proposition of the Chinese ancient poetry and classical article reading in the College Entrance Examination by considering its historic status and current situation.The first is to widen the rage of the reading materials:any ancient classic article and poetry can be chosen as long as it is outstanding but simple and easy.The second is to enrich the examination content of the reading test.The investigation of the knowledge dimension should be deepened,the test of logical thinking should be highlighted and the investigation of the ability level should be more comprehensive.While enriching the dimensions of the test,it is also necessary to pay attention to the connection between the topic and the material.The final is to keep the reading with the times:the proposition is supposed to be related to the real life,and the reading materials should be typical and various and conform to the times,which can provide students with concrete situations.
