The idea of general education originates from the ancient greeks "liberal education", general education introduced into China at the start of the last century but at first the general education was squeezed from the professional education mode, since the cultural quality education of engineering, makes the general education in our country has gradually become the research focus in the higher education. Through the collaborative efforts of the parties and the reference of foreign successful experience in general education, now we achieved some results.Firstly, using the literature research and data analysis to the spectrum of general education idea and the course of the general education, though analysis the thought of "wide" and "insight" in our China’s history and the cultural quality education movement, we see that the general education curriculum has a can not be neglected status in our country comprehensive university education.Secondly, the integrated use of inductive deductive research method,and literature analysis method, introduced the present general education in our country.Using the method of comparative analysis the present general education course in our universities with foreign universities’general education.Thirdly, the yunnan university’s present undergraduate’s general education courses as the main line, through the method of interview and questionnaire to survey the yunnan university students and teachers’perceptions of the existing general education, supplemented by the non-participation observation the general curriculum.Finally, with the concept of yunnan university as the main line analysis our comprehensive university general education curriculum and the problems existing in the implementation, and want to find out the reason.Thesis thinks that there have two sides of problem exist in our country’s comprehensive university general education system:first, the political classes have a high proportion in our country’s general education curriculum; Second, the general education curriculum in our country is mainly be divided into plates and has general education credits requirements, but the course type is relatively single.Through the interviews with yunnan university general education coursey, the author thinks that the general education of yunnan university teachers need to be strengthen,and the related courses remains need to be developed. It maybe can from the faculty construction, enrich the curriculum and course content, etc., to solve the problem in general education in our country’s comprehensive universities.Finally author use the yunnan university existing general education as an example, put forward combining the resources of the school, and the district advantage to construct class A and class B general education curriculum; And put forward the idea of general education teachers’ combination; In addition, the author thinks that the atmosphere of general education can through diversification of curriculum content presentation styles, enrich campus activities, make the school environment beautiful, the style construction to build a positive spirit.
