With the continuous development of the times,countries around the world have paid more and more attention to scientific and technological innovation,and STEM education has emerged as the times require,which has aroused worldwide attention.STEM education focuses on promoting the integration of disciplines and cultivating students' comprehensive literacy.At present,China's research on STEM education practice,especially the STEM curriculum design has not formed a unified standard,and the research results are not mature.Many school institutions have no concept of conducting STEM education.Therefore,how STEM education takes root in China is a problem that many experts and frontline educators need to think about.To this end,this article uses Arduino as the main platform to carry out the development research of STEM school-based curriculum,aiming to develop a set of effective STEM school-based curriculum to promote the improvement of STEM comprehensive quality of students and promote the development of school characteristics.This research mainly carried out the following work:using literature method to sort out STEM education theory and curriculum practice at home and abroad,and determining the STEM project type based on engineering design by drawing the connotation characteristics,practice mode and method of STEM course.On this basis,the STEM school-based curriculum development practice was carried out according to the school-based curriculum development process,and the curriculum objectives,teaching methods,course content and evaluation methods were determined.Subsequently,an eight-week course teaching experiment was conducted at the school,and the quality of the course was evaluated in the form of group learning performance(formative evaluation and summative evaluation),questionnaire survey and interview.After the research,the following conclusions are obtained:(1)The student group's learning performance indicates that the school-based curriculum has certain effects and promotes the development of students' STEM literacy.(2)The results of the questionnaire and interviews show that the course has been recognized by the participating students and recognized by the teachers,and has certain promotion and research significance.(3)There are certain problems in the development and implementation of this school-based curriculum:for example,the subject selection of the course content neglects the students' willingness,the lack of scheduling,and the evaluation of the implementation effect are not in place.The author will conduct follow-up improvement studies on these issuesAt the same time,the evaluation of the development and implementation of this school's current curriculum also brings some inspiration to follow-up research and other course developers:(1)The choice of the subject of the STEM curriculum should respect the students' wishes.(2)The teaching and evaluation of the STEM course should be in a way that students like.(3)STEM curriculum development requires the assistance of multiple parties.(4)The STEM course development process is a process of continuous modification and improvement.
