Since China joined the Internet in the 1990s,the Internet penetration rate has been increasing year by year,especially the number of young Internet users has increased sharply and the time of the first Internet access is getting earlier.While the Internet is beneficial to teenagers' life and study,safety issues such as cyberbullying also threaten their physical and mental health.In this study,cyberbullying is defined as the malicious,repeated and harmful behaviors of one party(individual or group)to the other party(individual or group)through the network platform or electronic communication equipment.As a new form of bullying,Cyberbullying is characterized by anonymity of identity,indirection of bullying,recurrence of harm and extensiveness of influence,making it more frequent,more extreme in content,more diversified in forms,more serious in harm and more difficult to supervise than traditional bullying.In view of this,this study attempts to investigate the current situation of cyberbullying among middle school students in Nanjing,Jiangsu province by means of questionnaire survey and interview.From the perspective of pedagogy,this study analyzes the characteristics and causes of cyberbullying among middle school students,and accordingly proposes strategies to prevent and control cyberbullying.In this study,a random sampling method was used to select 3600 middle school students to participate in the questionnaire survey,and 3104 valid questionnaires were eventually recovered.According to the survey,the phenomenon of' middle school students' cyberbullying presents the following characteristics.First,50%of' middle school students are involved in cyberbullying,and bullying cognition affects bullying behavior.Second,cyberbullying takes various forms,mainly including online abuse and online exclusion.Third,cyberbullying has multiple carriers,mainly including instant message and online games.Fourth,cyberbullying is more common among students,and the motivation of bullying is retaliation.Fifth,cyberbullying has many negative effects,and seeking help is the main way to deal with it.Sixth,cyberbullying has so many bystanders,and most of them are willing to act as protectors.Seventh,boys are more likely to participate in cyberbullying than girls.Eighth.students in grade three are more likely to participate in cyberbullying.Ninth,students with poor grades are more likely to participate in cyberbullying.Tenth,students from demoeratic families are less likely to participate in cyberbullying.Eleventh,students from poor families are more likely to participate in cyberbullying.Based on the interview survey,this study summarizes three major causes of cyberbullying among middle school students.Firstly,middle school students are faced with many psychological difficulties,including the aggravation of "catharsis",the publicity of "self-realization",the amplification of "retaliation" and the upgrading of"blind conformity".Secondly,the shock of network cultures and the lack of network moral standards,including the diversity of network culture causes a strong impact,the network characteristics encourages cyberbullying.and the lack of network moral standards causes the network disorder.Thirdly,school and family intervention is sufficient and social supervision is weak,including the lack of school and family intervention in cyberbullying,network operators are driven by economic interests,and the inadequacy of laws and regulations on online security.Based on the characteristics and causes of cyberbullying among middle school students,this study proposes the corresponding strategies to prevent and control cyberbullying from four aspects.At the individual level,the awareness of network security should be enhanced and the network accomplishment should be improved.At the school level,the prevention mechanism of cyberbullying in campus should be improved and relevant education on cyberbullying prevention should be carried out.At the family level,children should be guided to deal with cyberbullying correctly and a warm and harmonious family atmosphere should be created.At the social level,laws and regulations on cyberbullying should be improved,the real-name system on the Internet should be promoted and media should be a good gatekeeper of the Internet society.Therefore,this study constructed a collaborative prevention and control system for middle school students' cyberbullying.
