Today is the era of WeChat.Across the country,WeChat has 1 billion active users and accounts for 28% of the market in China over 55 years old.Micro-blog,which is also a social media, ushered in the decline in the number of users in 2014,and its popularity in academic field is also fading. In this way,Micro-blog seems to fade out of people's vision, but as the author of this article,I have observed that there are still many people around the university who are using Micro-blog,and some of them are "escape" from WeChat to Micro-blog.Based on such an interesting phenomenon,I proposed the research question of this article: What are the realities of the use of Micro-blog in the WeChat era by college students who are followers of new media? Why do college students "run away from Wechat moments" when Wechat can meet diverse needs such as interpersonal, transportation and payment? In order to solve the research problems step by step, this article mainly uses questionnaires to study the college students in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center universities as the research object, aiming to clarify the current situation of college students on Micro-blog,in order to further explore the implied demand behind of their motivation for using Micro-blog;secondly,with in-depth interview method,12 sample subjects were selected for one-on-one interviews.I used the qualitative research to supplement the survey data and support conclusions, and the influence of Micro-blog on college students was demonstrated from different theoretical perspectives. This article is divided into five parts. The first chapter introduces the backgroung of the topic, and analyzes the significance and innovation of the research. In the second chapter, through the descriptive analysis of the survey data,it is found that the current college students have a certain dependence on the use of Micro-blog;By comparing the motivation of using wechat and Micro-blog among college students,it is found that there are obvious differences in the focus of college students' attention to WeChat and Micro-blog in three aspects: social interaction,self-presentation and information attention. On the basis of the second chapter, the third chapter analyzes the reasons for the use of microblogs by college students by means of interview data and multiple theoretical perspectives. The study found that the reasons for college students to use Weibo are from constructing self-identity,distinguishing media context, accumulating cultural capital and gaining the right to speak. The fourth chapter focuses on the possible impact of the use of Micro-blog on college students. It shows that the needs of college students in the process of contact and use of Micro-blog are met,but they are also affected by the information from Micro-blog.These effects are mainly reflected. In both thought and behavior; The fifth chapter is clear about the context and key of this research, and summarizes the inadequacies of this research. Finally, from the perspective of youth subculture and compensatory media, the future research is proposed.
