With the continuous development of social productive forces in China,people’s demand for educational fairness is becoming stronger and stronger.It has become an urgent problem to change the backward educational situation in rural areas,narrow the gap between urban and rural education,and promote the balanced distribution of educational resources.The small-class teaching is a kind of teaching organization form which is beneficial to the comprehensive and harmonious development of students.It is also of great significance to realize education equity and change the reality that the gap between urban and rural education has been too large for a long time.In recent years,rural primary schools in Yuanzhou District,Guyuan city,Ningxia Province have greatly reduced the number of students due to various reasons,resulting in a large number of natural small classes.According to the actual situation of small natural classes in rural areas,it has become an inevitable requirement to improve the teaching quality of rural primary schools to change the traditional teaching mode of large classes.Therefore,this study selects ten rural primary schools in Yuanzhou District,Guyuan City,Ningxia Province as the research object,and through investigating the current situation and reasons of the small-class teaching in rural primary schools in this region,attempts to put forward countermeasures and Suggestions for the implementation of the small-class teaching in rural primary schools.First of all,we collect relevant data and materials by using the questionnaire of the small-class teaching strategies(school questionnaire,teacher questionnaire and student questionnaire)and interviews between teachers and students in rural primary schools in Yuanzhou District of Guyuan City.We conducted a survey on the current situation of small-class teaching from three perspectives: class scale and teaching environment aspect,teacher aspect and student aspect.The following problems are found: the teaching environment has not been improved;teachers lack of teaching skills;the teaching evaluation takes the result as the only standard;students have not developed good study habits.Secondly,in view of the existing problems in the small-class teaching of rural primary schools in this region,this paper based on the theory of personalized teaching and cooperative learning theory,and combined with the existing problems in the small-class teaching of rural primary schools,puts forward the corresponding countermeasures.It includes the following five aspects: improving the construction of the small-class teaching environment,strengthening the construction of teachers’ team,reforming teachers’ teaching methods,changing students’ learning methods and reforming teaching evaluation methods.Finally,a small-class teaching experiment was carried out in Shawo Primary School,Guanting Town,Yuanzhou District,Guyuan City,Ningxia Province.According to the problems in practice,several points for attention are put forward.It is expected to provide some reference for the specific operation of the small-class teaching for rural teachers,and provide some beneficial help for the effective implementation of the small-class teaching.
