"Education Magazine" And The Spread Of Western Vocational Education In China (1909-1937)

Education Magazine is the educational publication with the longest circulation time,the largest circulation and the most extensive influence in the educational journals of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.It is an important promoter of the development of modern education in China,and it is also an important carrier of the dissemination of Western educational thoughts and practices.With the development of China's modem industry,society pays more and more attention to vocational education.It is imperative to introduce advanced Western education concepts and measures and promote the development of vocational education.From 1909 to 1937,Education Magazine played an important role in the promotion,introduction and research of Western vocational education.This paper systematically studied the above.The paper contains the following six parts:The first part is the introduction.It mainly expounded the reasons and research significance of this topic,analyzed the research status,introduced the scope,ideas and methods of the research,and summarized the innovations and shortcomings of this research.The second part is about the establishment and status of Education Magazine.It mainly introduced the background,editor-in-chief and author group,and the setting of the column of Education Magazine,which highlights the historical status of the magazine:it is the window for the Chinese to see the world and the bridge between Chinese education and Western education.The third part is about the spread of Western vocational education in Education Magazine.Through the collation of the photocopy edition of Education Magazine,58 articles about Western vocational education published between 1909 and 1937 were classified according to the degree of introduction,the group of transmission,the countries and the contents of the dissemination to be analyzed.The fourth part is about the characteristics of the spread of Western vocational education in Education Magazine.Firstly,the intensity of communication fluctuated at any time;secondly,the subject of communication was increasingly diverse;thirdly,the content of communication was very rich;fourth,the scope of communication was more extensive.The fifth part expounds the historical influence of Education Magazine on the spread of Western vocational education:Firstly,it has opened up and promoted the process of the spread of vocational education in the history of Western learning;Secondly,it laid the ideological foundation and social foundation for the modernization of China's vocational education.Thirdly,it was a pioneer in the face of the development of China's modern industry.The sixth part summarized the enlightenment of the dissemination of Western vocational education by the Education Magazine on the development of today's vocational education.Under the macroscopic background of internationalization,along with the continuous deepening of China's reform and opening up,we must not only base on our national conditions,but also learn from the world's advanced vocational education theories and experiences,and strive to create a vocational education theoretical system with international vision and Chinese characteristics to guide and promote the sustainable development of China's vocational education,and to cultivate more innovative talents for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
