Students' physics subject ability is generally divided into learning comprehension ability,application practice ability and transfer innovation ability.Model construction ability is the highest level of students' ability in physics.Model construction ability means that students master certain physical knowledge and can find out the relationship between various elements from physical problems.At the same time,they are able to use various elements to construct physical models,describe phenomena and solve problems.2020 is the beginning of China's education reform.Under the policy of the new curriculum standard and the new college entrance examination,it is necessary to consider the development of students' ability to construct physical models,the exist problems and what measures to deal these problems.Therefore,the current state of students' abilities needs to be investigated.The paper investigates the current situation of the physics model construction ability of senior students.First of all,the background,purpose and significance of the survey are fully explained.Corresponding planning is made for the entire survey.Then,through the review of the relevant literature on the survey questions,the paper clarifies the development and the construction process of the physical model and the evaluation index of the physical model ability.The questions raised by different scholars and the research results were summarized.Based on this,the evaluation indicators of the survey were determined.The questionnaire survey was used to study students' attitudes on physical learning,problem-solving habits,listening habits and physical model cognition level.The self-evaluation form of model was used to make further study on the evaluation tendency of self-model learning.The problem set and original physics problems were used to understand the current status of students' model construction ability and the collected data which originate students at different levels and levels in different classes were studied.Based on this,the paper summarizes survey results and put forward teaching suggestions.Finally,the problems existing in the investigation process were analyzed,the solution was found and prospects for future investigation and research were made.The questionnaire reflected that the level of students' learning motivation affects their modeling capabilities.Students' physical learning methods are biased towards memory.Most students think that the physical model is a simplification of physical phenomena and physical problems or a method of physical learning.Through the self-evaluation table of the model,we know that students in both basic and improved classes think that their mastery of the basic physical model is good and has reached the level of understanding and application.But the self-evaluation score of the improved class is slightly higher than the basic class.Students' sense of academic achievement and self-confidence are positively related to their academic performance.Classes with better academic performance have a deeper understanding of basic physical models.It is found that students have different levels of physical modeling ability in the exercises and the original physical problem test paper.For the students in the improvement class,their modeling level is generally high and the difference among groups is small in the exercise test paper.However,in the original physics problem test,the modeling level of students in different groups is quite different.The basic class shows a great difference in the level of modeling ability in the exercise test paper,but the level of modeling shown in the original physical problem test paper is general and there is little difference between different groups of students.Studies show that students have a higher level of modeling ability with a certain scope of knowledge used.The original physical problem test paper can better measure the students' ability of problem situation analysis and physical problem representation.Through classroom observation and survey data analysis,the current situation of students' modeling ability is mainly caused by students' factors,teachers' factors and task variables.Aiming at the causes,it is proposed that physical modeling teaching should adopt visual thinking and "question string" approaching teaching strategies to improve students'modeling ability.
