Friendship jealousy refers to negative emotions such as threats,anxiety,and anger that individuals experience when they see their friends and others getting close together.In the face of this negative emotion,if the individual does not take the appropriate response,it will affect the harmony with others.Good self-esteem is an important factor in the formation of individual harmonious interpersonal relationship,the individual’s self-esteem level will be affected by the attachment relationship with parents in the early stage,because of the existence of internal working mechanisms in the attachment relationship,the early formation of the attachment relationship of the individual will continue to affect the growing adult attachment,and will guide the interaction with others in the individual’s unconscious.Previous studies have found that adult attachment also influences jealous experiences when individuals are with others.On the basis of previous research,this study introduces self-esteem and coping styles to further explore the internal influence mechanism of adult attachment on friendship jealousy.In this study,a questionnaire was conducted to select 706 college students,using Li Tonghui,Kato Andshi revised the "Intimate Relationship Experience Scale",Yang Yifei prepared the Friendship Envy Questionnaire,Xie Yaning’s "Simple Response Questionnaire",Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale.To carry out common method deviation test,difference analysis and related analysis of data,build a chain intermediary model,explore the role of self-esteem and coping styles in adult attachment and friendship envy mechanism,and finally came to the following research conclusions:(1)There are significant differences in gender and grade of friendship envy among college students;There are significant differences in the self-esteem level of college students in terms of sex,origin and only child;There are significant differences in the negative coping style of college students in grade,and there are significant differences in the positive response methods in the origin of students.(2)Self-esteem acts as an intermediary between adult attachment and friendship jealousy.(3)Negative coping acts as an intermediary between attachment anxiety and friendship jealousy.(4)Self-esteem and negative responses act as a chain between attachment anxiety and friendship jealousy..
