It has been more than 10 years since GIS was first written into the curriculum standard in 2003.During this period,GIS has been applied more and more widely in social production and life,and its role has become more and more important.However,the GIS application in the field of education is relatively slow,especially in human geography.As a subject closely related to people's life,human geography requires students to be able to see things from a developmental perspective and understand the relationship between human activities and geographical environment,the intuitionistic and dynamic characteristics of GIS can meet this requirement.In addition,the 2017 edition of the new curriculum requires students to have the core quality of geography,including the concept of human-earth coordination and the training of geographical practice are inseparable from the teaching of human geography,but it is difficult for students to form the core literacy simply by explaining the knowledge points of human geography,and GIS itself is a part of geography practice.Students can exercise their practical ability by operating GIS software by themselves,therefore,the application of GIS in the teaching of human geography is particularly important.This paper mainly includes three parts: in the first part,firstly,by using the method of literature research and comprehensive analysis,through consulting literature at home and abroad,this paper sorts out the current situation of the development of GIS in teaching,and sums up the following existing problems,for example,the development of GIS in various regions of China is not balanced,and the application of GIS is only on paper.Secondly,based on the theory of multiple intelligences,constructivism,situation learning and information processing,this paper summarizes the basis and advantages of GIS in the teaching of human geography,which will pave the way for further research.In the second part,this research uses the questionnaire survey method and the comprehensive analysis method,through the correlation questionnaire teacher and the student carries on the investigation,through to the questionnaire analysis further understands the current situation and the existence question in the GIS application in the teaching,for example,the teacher's attention is not enough,the operation procedure is too complicated,the data is not easy to find,and the time of using GIS to prepare lessons is too long.Strengthening Teachers 'attention to GIS;2.Develop easy-to-use GIS Software;3.Create an efficient shared database;4.Actively Carry Out on-the-job training of GIS software.In the third part,this research summarizes the common steps of using GIS to organize the teaching design of human geography by means of comprehensive analysis method and case method,based on this,the author designs three teaching cases in three chapters: The spatial change of population,the urbanization and the location choice of agriculture.In the end,the author summarizes the concrete results of this research and draws the following conclusions: 1.The application of GIS in the teaching of human geography is one of the effective ways to improve the students' ability of human-land coordination and geographical practice;2.The routine application of GIS in the teaching of human geography needs to solve several existing problems.3.Not all teaching units of human geography are suitable for GIS.Do not use GIS for the purpose of GIS,on the basis of this,the author rethinks the deficiency of this research,hoping to promote the development and application of GIS in the teaching of human geography.
