It is inevitable that little kids come across some barriers that are beyond their own knowledge, ability or experience in their daily lives.Apart from surrendering voluntarily or insisting blindly when faced with problems, they can choose an effective problem-solving behavior strategy?help-seeking behavior.Currently, researches on children's help-seeking behavior all based on the background of the same-age class, which is not beneficial to the overall display of help-seeking behavior. Therefore,In this research,Children of different ages study and live together and this mode not only increases the diversity of children's interaction forms, but also provides a relatively actual learning-living environment for children.Based on qualitative research methods combined with data analysis results, this research reveals distinctions in statistical variable of help-seeking behavior of children in mixed-age classes, and help-seeking behavior characteristics of children of different age when they are in different type of activities. The results indicate that the number of children's help-seeking behavior decreases to some extent with the increase of children's age,and girls are more likely to ask for help.Children's help-seeking behavior is the most common in life situations;the second is study situations;the final is game situations.Children in mixed-age classes mainly ask help from their teachers;when it comes to peers, they are more inclined to ask their older peers for help. The verbal help-seeking behavior is the main way for children, and body help-seeking behavior is another common way.Children are likely to ask for help in terms of learning problems and self-care problems.Despite there are some occasional negative help-seeking behavior feedback of teachers, such as ignoring or rejecting, and the intermediate feedback such as forgetting after answering, positive feedback is still the main feedback type of mixed-age children's help-seeking behavior.Generally, children can receive positive feedback when turning to their peers for help.As for help-seeking results, the help-seeking behavior of little kids in mixed age classes can usually help them solve problems. As a result, most children's help-seeking behavior ends up with the problem solved smoothly.Based on the analysis of the survey results, the author provides some educational strategies for actively guiding and responding to children's help-seeking behavior in the last part of the thesis. It is recommended that educators should take the children's help-seeking behavior objectively and seriously, and give them timely feedback and appropriate guidance with enhancement of their problem-solving ability as the main goal.
