The ability to use mathematics knowledge to solve application problems is one of the goals that mathematics teaching should achieve.Mathematical modeling is an effective way to strengthen students' consciousness of mathematics application and problem solving ability. Therefore, using mathematics modeling activities to expand mathematics teaching can help students accumulate mathematics practical experience, enhance students' ability to apply mathematics, and enhance their innovative consciousness. At present, most of the research on mathematics modeling teaching in middle schools is to penetrate the way of mathematics modeling thinking in mathematics classroom teaching or to try to teach some isolated modeling cases, which lacks systematicness and pertinence. This article mainly designs mathematics modeling activities based on the content of the unit in the junior middle school mathematics textbook to expand the knowledge in the class, and follows the following four design principles: 1.Modeling activities should match the actual teaching progress;2.Modeling activities should pay attention to the process Rather than results;3.Modeling activities should not only focus on applicability and comprehensiveness, but also consider students' actual cognitive level;4.Strengthen the application of computing tools and software. The overall goal and design idea of instructional design in this article is to use mathematics modeling teaching to strengthen and expand the knowledge learned with the application of mathematics, enhance students' interest in learning and enhance their ability to learn to apply.According to the theory of the latest development zone, this paper arranges the hours and the sequence of the teaching content. After the completion of the teaching content of each unit,1 to 2 hours of mathematical modeling activities are arranged based on the unit knowledge to expand the textbook knowledge.Among them, the modeling of geometric models focuses on the analysis of images, and the modeling of functional models focuses on analyzing data to establish a suitable function model.Geometry at the junior high school stage involves multiple knowledge points such as triangles, quadrilaterals and circles. However, triangles have many applications in acute-angle triangle ratio units. In this article,we take quadrilaterals and linear functions as examples in both geometry and algebra, and then conduct line analysis and instructional design.Circle and other function types use the two as templates, which are both types of knowledge expansion and application expansion. This article has studied the instructional design of expanded content based on mathematical modeling. We analyze classroom knowledge points to determine the focus of expansion, set teaching goals and set up some pre-import problems,so that the expansion of teaching activities can be carried out gradually and orderly.
