Teacher-student relationship is a kind of moral and teaching relationship established by teachers and students in order to achieve their common goals in the process of education and teaching.Whether teacher-student relationship is good or bad directly affects the quality of school education,teaching and management.However,with the rapid development of China’s secondary vocational education,there are problems with the relationship between secondary vocational teachers and students.Secondary vocational students share characteristics with ordinary high school students but meanwhile comes with its own particularities that are relative weak knowledge base,poor behavior and discipline,sensitive mind and self-esteem and being easily emotional because of the teacher’s words,which result in indifferent relationship between teachers and students and frequent contradictions,conflicts and even violence between teachers and students..Consequently,the development of secondary vocational schools,the improvement of teaching quality and the physical and mental health of students are greatly affected.Based on the careethics,the author expounds the meaning and characteristics of the new relationship between teachers and students in secondary vocational schools,analyzes the importance of building a new relationship between teachers and students.Through interviews and surveys with some teachers and students in a secondary vocational school in Tianshui,the author analyzes the current situation of the relationship between teachers and students and the problems existing in the process of teachers and students getting along with each other,and probes into the impact a series of factors of the relationship between teachers and students focuing on the construction of the new relationship between teachers and students in secondary vocational schools.Finally,combined with the case study,the paper puts forward the principles and measures for the construction of the new relationship between teachers and students.It is found that the problems existing in the process of teachers and students getting along in secondary vocational schools are mainly manifested in the following aspects: low trust between teachers and students,few opportunities for communication and exchange between the two sides,students’ psychology of notwanting to learn and teachers’ psychology of expecting students to have excellent results,low sense of daily work achievement of teachers,and even burnout.The main reasons are due to the lack of concern between teachers and students.The prejudice of the social personage to the secondary vocational school students is even worse to the secondary vocational school students whose academic performance is not ideal originally.The long-term frustration leads to their inferiority,self-confidence,lack of motivation for learning and lack of parents’ company and care become the main influencing factors of the disharmony between teachers and students.In view of the problems existing in the current relationship between teachers and students in secondary vocational schools,the last part of the paper puts forward: hoping to take"learning to care",another mode of education put forward by Noddings,as a guide,in line with the educational goal of "cultivating capable,caring,loving and lovely people",in order to promote students’ all-round development,respect,tolerance,trust and understanding,and adhere to the principle of "learning" Performance is not the only standard to measure the quality of students."We should set an example,look at students’ behaviors with an understanding eye,correctly look at students’ mistakes,open students’ hearts with care,and make students willing to open their hearts with love,so that they can really accept teachers and recognize teachers from the bottom of their hearts.It is hoped that the principles and approaches proposed in this paper can be used for reference to teachers in secondary vocational schools.
