Music is the art of emotion, which brings us into the colorful emotional world through listening to music. In music teaching, especially the appreciation of the single auditory sensory experience in teaching can no longer satisfy the students' aesthetic experience,so the use of "sense" is particularly important.Synaesthesia, also known as "synesthesia",refers to the interaction between different senses. When one sense is stimulated,it will cause other different senses to produce feelings. The author's research found that the use of synaesthesia allows students to use various senses of hearing, vision, kinesthetics, etc.to perceive music at the same time, which will enable students to obtain a more three-dimensional and richer music experience, stimulating students' enthusiasm for learning and activating the classroom atmosphere.Gradually cultivating students 'sense of synaesthesia and improving the ability of synaesthesia in teaching not only improves students' comprehensive quality, but also improves the efficiency and quality of music teaching. In this article, the author's discussion on the application of "synesthesia" in elementary school music appreciation teaching will be divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, the author briefly discusses the concept of synaesthesia and its production principles. In the second chapter, the author takes the teaching plan of the violin solo song "Pastoral" as an example, from the audiovisual synaesthesia, color auditory synesthesia, and dynamic auditory synesthesia to explain the application of "synesthesia" in the music appreciation teaching of primary schools. In the third chapter, the author summarizes and elaborates the role and significance of the "sensory" experience in the teaching of music appreciation in primary schools.
