Research On Tourism Development And Space Spillovers In West-Strait Economic Area

The strategic concept of West-Strait Economic Area was put forward since 2004,which our country are attaching great importance to,especially the development of its tourism industry.Thus the government and the national tourism administration have introduced many policies to develop the tourism industry clusters in West-Strait Economic Area.However,few scholars have analyzed the tourism industry in West-Strait Area from the perspective of industry cluster,or analyzed the influencing factors of tourism development in West-Strait Economic Area by quantitative method.So it is of great practical significance to analyze the influencing factor of the economic development of the tourism industry,to explore whether there are tourism industry clusters in West-Strait Economic Area,as well as to find the problems in the construction.In this thesis,I use tourism location quotient and space Moran's I index to analyze tourism clustering level of West-Strait Economic Area and space self-correlation,viewing that there is positive self-correlation in this area and the spreading effect and clustering effect are not so obvious.I then compare between and analyzes on West-Strait Economic Area and the whole costal city clusters,discovering that the tourism clustering effect in Yangtze River Delta region is very remarkable and the tourism industry cluster have been formed with outstanding spreading effect.Compared with the Yangtze River Delta Area,the tourism clustering effect in West-Strait Economic Area is weak and the industrial cluster has not been formed.Then,I utilize prefecture-level data of 2000-2015 to choose SDM to fit tourism development in this area.The model result shows that the outflow effect is not remarkable and the local tourism development will stifle the tourism development of the neighboring cities.There is spatial competition between tourism and other relevant tourism resources.Meanwhile,the model reveals that the local economic development remarkably enhances tourism development.In the end,I conclude that the tourism industry clusters in West-Strait Economic Area have not been formed.Based on the empirical results,I propose that the West-Strait Economic area should according to the actual situation of various cities combine developing the tourism industry with strengthening economic construction.Then,the cities in West-Strait Economic Area should break the regional restrictions,promote exchanges and cooperation.Third,Cities will be expected to develop tourism and industry clusters step by step in the light of local conditions.Lastly,the enterprises should actively play a role in the tourism industry clusters construction.
