The Happiness Effect Of Export And Influence Factors

Based on CGSS2006 and CGSS2008 data matched with corresponding city level data,this article applies Ordered Probit model to explore the happiness effect of export and its transmission mechanism,as well as its influence factor.On the basis of income-leisure utility function and existing literature,this article explores the influence of export to residents' subjective happiness,puts forward policy suggestion and expands existing research results innovatively.The benchmark regression indicates export significantly improves residents'subjective happiness on the whole.Export leads to increase of the crowd feeling higher sense of happiness and decrease of that feeling lower sense of happiness,and accelerates the promotion of happiness totally.On average,if export increase 1%,the amount of residents feeling "Very Happy","Happy","Just-so-so","Not Happy" and"Not Happy At All" changes 1.24%,1.38%,-1.78%,-0.63%and-0.21%respectively,and total happiness increases 1.37%.Research on transmission of happiness of export shows that export influences happiness by increasing income,shrinking leisure and deteriorating pollution,instead of changing income gap.Export aggrandizes income of resident so that subjective happiness goes up,cuts down the leisure time of individual so that subjective happiness is reduced,and aggravates environmental pollution so that it deteriorates residents,subjective happiness.However,export scarcely affects the urban-rural income gap,so it seldom causes the change of residents' subjective happiness by the gap effect.The happiness effect of export varies in difference area and difference group.On the one hand,export significantly improves happiness in coastal area because coastal area has lower transportation cost,promotes happiness in lower tax-rate level area since higher proportion income can be allocated to corporations and individuals,and raises happiness in well environmental protection area as most of pollution has been purified.On the other hand,export enhances happiness of the crowd with lower education than Secondary due to low additional value export structure,elevates happiness of 20-55 years old for they are in employment,and intensifies non-village census registration crowd group owing to more opportunity in cities and towns.In the process of export development,government should consider the effect from export to residents' income and leisure,as well as pollution.Government need to appropriately encourage technological innovation,set the upper limit of working hours and strengthen environmental regulation.In order to make different area develop evenly and adequately,on the one hand government need to guide inland city to connect the collaborative network of export activity,to lower tax burden,and to reinforce innocent treatment for industrial waste,on the other hand to upgrade export structure,to optimize matching mechanism of the supply and demand of labor force,and to overall consider happiness of difference age bracket groups.
