Study On The Leading Sectors Of Manufacturing In Guangdong Province

Manufacturing industry is an important support for the economic development of Guangdong Province and an important force for promoting economic development in the Guangdong Province.With the promulgation of the "Made in China 2025" plan and the "Guangdong Province Intelligent Manufacturing Development Plan(2015-2025)",Guangdong Province has entered a crucial period of transformation,upgrading and innovation of the manufacturing industry,and faced with serious challenge.At present,the manufacturing industry in Guangdong Province is still large but not strong.Compared with the advanced level in Europe and America in ter ms of industrial structure,quality and efficiency,independent innovation capability,and coordinated development of other industries,there is a big gap in the manufacturing industry in Guangdong Province.To upgrade,it is necessary to first understand the leading sectors of manufacturing in Guangdong Province and its relevance to other industrial sectors.Based on this,this paper first uses the industry classification criteria and input-output table to define the leading manufacturing sectors in Guangdong Province,selects five leading sectors,and second,using Guangdong province's five sectors input-output combination table to conduct an empirical analysis of the consumption relationship and distribution relationship between the leading sectors and other industrial sectors.Finally,the analysis of the input structures and the output structures of the leading sectors in Guangdong Province.Applying the latest data analysis,this paper draws the following conclusions:First,the leading sectors in Guangdong Province have a strong driving effect on the intra-provincial economy.Among the five leading sectors,the influence coefficient of the four sectors is greater than one.It shows that the leading sectors in Guangdong Province have a large radiation effect on other industrial sectors and also have a strong driving effect on the provincial economy.In particular,metal smelting and calendering products industry have the highest influence coefficients.However,less than half of the leading sectors' sensitivity coefficient less than one,which has a limited impact on the provincial economy.Only communication equipment,computers and other electronic equipment industry,chemical products industry,metal smelting,and calendering products industry's sensitivity coefficient and influence coefficient are all greater than 1,which is highly relevant to other industrial sectors,not only having a strong pulling effect to other sectors,but also having a greater degree of insensitivity to other industrial sectors.Through supply,it promotes economic development,which in turn can drive economic growth in the entire province.It also consumes large amounts of other industrial sectors in the production process.Second,Basic industries represented by chemical products industry still occupy an important position in the economy of Guangdong Province.The influence coefficient of chemical products industry,metal smelting,and calendering products industry ranked the 2nd and 3rd in the 38 sectors of Guangdong Province in 2015.However,chemical products industry,and metal smelting and calendering products industry 's influence coefficient showed a certain degree of decline compared with 2010,indicating that the status of basic industry has been weakened.Even so,the total output of each unit in Guangdong Province will still pull the total output of these two sectors by more than one unit.It means that the market demand of these two sectors is still large.The two sectors are mature enough to be less substitutable,which have a strong restriction on social production in Guangdong Province.Therefore,the status of basic industrial has been slightly weakened,but it still occupies an important position in the economy of Guangdong Province.Third,The influence of the equipment manufacturing industry represented by communication equipment,computers and other electronic equipment industry continues to increase.The influence coefficients of communication equipment,computers and other electronic equipment industry,electrical machinery and equipment industry,transportation equipment industry,metal products industry,general and special equipment industry,instrumentation industry ranked the 2nd,4th,5th,6th,9th and 10 th in the 38 sectors of Guangdong Province.Among them,the influence coefficient of electrical machinery and equipment industry,transportation equipment industry,metal products industry,general and special equipment industry have improved compared with 2010.In addition,the sensitivity coefficient of communications equipment,computers,and other electronic equipment industry is also greater than 1,and it ranks first in the 38 sectors.In a word,the equipment manufacturing industry represented by communication equipment,computers and other electronic equipment industry has huge radiation capacity,which has played an important role in promoting and supporting the overall economic development of Guangdong Province.
