A Study About The Impact Of Service Trade Liberalization On Service Exports Sophistication

In recent years,with the rapid development of world trade in services,China's service trade liberalization process has been faster,but it is still at a relatively low level.At the same time,China's service export structure is still not balanced enough,and it is still relatively weak in terms of high-tech service exports,leading to a consistently low level of service exports in China.Therefore,under this background,whether we can seize the important opportunity for the development of global service trade,improve the service trade development model,expand the openness and convenience level of service trade,and improve the quality of service trade exports are particularly important.This paper reviewed literatures on service trade liberalization and service export sophistication firstly;then take a comparative ananlysis on the present situation of service trade liberalization,and at the same time we constructed the index of service export sophistication to take a comparison analysis of the service export technology level in several.On the basis above,this paper made a fixed-effect model to estimate the effect that service trade liberalization has on service export sophistication using the built panel data from 32 countries including developing countries and developed countries dated from 2001 to 2015.Empirical research shows that the liberalization of service trade has a significant positive impact on the service export sophistication,and for developed countries,service trade liberalization has a more significant effect on the service export sophistication than developing countries;economic development level,technological innovation Capacity,foreign capital utilization,and infrastructure are all important factors that affect the service export sophistication.Finally,according to the conclusions of this paper,relevant policy recommendations are proposed.The innovation of this article is mainly reflected in two aspects: First,although the current literature has achieved relatively useful results in terms of research related to the export sophistication,most of them focus on trade in goods,it is relatively rare to study from the perspective of service trade liberalization.Second,after the empirical analysis of theoverall sample,this paper carries out the regression analysis of samples from developed countries and samples from developing countries respectively,and conducts a differentiated discussion to make the empirical analysis more detailed.The inadequacies of this paper are mainly reflected in the following two aspects: the amount of sample is not enough and the theoretical analysis is not sufficient.
