With the integration of global value chains into the service industry, the processes and links of service provision are increasingly broken down.Technology is playing an increasingly important role in value-added services.Developed economies, relying on information technology, have far surpassed emerging economies and taken the leading position in the international market. Therefore,it is necessary to discuss the impact of the technical sophistication of service exports on the value added of service trade exports.By citing the Namini theoretical model, this paper deduces that the technical sophistication of service exports can effectively increase the added value of service trade exports.By adopting the latest method of WWZ,this paper selects the export data of service trade from 2000 to 2014 in WIOD database, the value-added of service trade exports is measured by excluding the foreign imports in the service trade exports, which can reflect the real situation of service trade exports of various countries. At the same time, the added value of service trade export is introduced into the calculation of the technical sophistication of service export. The results show that the technical sophistication of service export is on the rise in all countries, but there are different gaps between the two economies in the overall and different factor intensities. In the empirical analysis, this paper establishes a systematic GMM model to examine the impact of technical sophistication of service export on the value added of service trade export. The test results show that:(1)The technical sophistication of service export can significantly promote the added value of service trade export.(2)The technological sophistication of service exports can significantly boost the value added of service exports in advanced economies, but has little effect in emerging economies. This shows that the increase of value added of service trade export in developed economies depends on the progress of technology, while the development of service trade in emerging economies lacks the impetus of technology.(3)The technological sophistication of service exports with different factor intensities has different effects on the value added of service trade exports of the two economies. The technological sophistication of knowledge-intensive service exports has a more significant impact on developed economies, while the technological sophistication of labor-intensive service exports has a more significant impact on emerging economies. This shows that emerging economies are still downstream of the value chain, and the growth of service trade exports is driven by services with low technical sophistication, and this economy will soon face the risk of low-end lock-in.To this end, this paper has put forward the following suggestions for the development of China's service trade export value-added:Strengthen service-oriented human capital investment and improve independent innovation capabilities;optimize the structure of service trade exports and promote the export of a combination of industries;attract foreign investment in the service sector and vigorously undertake high-end service outsourcing;enhance the level of opening up in the field of service trade.
