Research On The Impact Of Producer Services FDI On China’s Manufacturing Efficiency

At present,along with the rise of the new economic and technological revolution,and in response to the global economic downturn,the major manufacturing countries in the world are paying more and more attention to the development of their own manufacturing industry.The United States launched the"National Advanced Manufacturing National Strategic Plan" in 2012,and Germany also proposed "Industry 4.0",while China proposed the "Made in China 2025" as a strategic plan at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.As China gradually enters an aging society,the demographic dividend is gradually exhausted,and the labor cost continues to rise.Secondly,with the continuous increase of the added value of China’s manufacturing products,the diffculty of China’s technology introduction is increasing,and the world’s major powerful manufacturing industry countries have demanded that China should improve the protection of intellectual property rights,and the post-development advantage of China’s economic development is constantly weakening.In this situation,how to improve the efficiency of manufacturing is the top priority in the development of manufacturing.The improvement of manufacturing efficiency is closely related to the industrial efficiency of the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain,and the linkage and correlation between industries are continuously enhanced.As a productive service industry that supports the development of manufacturing industry,it plays an increasingly important role in improving manufacturing efficiency.As the depth and breadth of China’s opening up continues to increase,the investment of multinational companies in the service industry,especially in the producer service industry,is growing rapidly.Since 2005,China’s productionservice industry FDI has increased from 81,170,500 US dollars to 2016’s 133,834,700 US dollars,with an average annual growth rate of 18.45%.At the same time,all countries in the world are competing for innovation capabilities,and major developed countries have promulgated and implemented IP development strategies.In 2008,China also promulgated and implemented the National Outline for the Development of Intellectual Property Rights.Since the implementation of the Outline,the protection level of intellectual property areas in China has been significantly improved,and the awareness of intellectual property protection in the society has also been generally enhanced,and the progress of intellectual property protection work has been improved.It has played a positive role in promoting economic and social development.Although China’s intellectual property protection work has made great progress,according to the "2018 International Intellectual Property Index Report" released by GIPC,China can only be ranked 25th.Compared with the world’s major developed countries,there is still a lot of difference.The gap,China’s intellectual property protection work still has a long way to go.In order to cope with the global trade protection wind and maintain the sustained,healthy and stable development of the Chinese economy,at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia in 2018,President Xi Jinping solemnly announced that it will create a more attractive investment environment and substantially relax market access and re-establish Establish a national intellectual property office to strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights.In this context,it is of practical significance to study the impact of FDI on the efficiency of manufacturing industry through the perspective of intellectual property protection.With regard to the textual framework,this paper first defines the meaning of FDI in production service industry,the intensity of intellectual property protection,and manufacturing TFP.Then the theory of the relationship between service industry and manufacturing industry is sorted out.Then,the measurement methods of total factor productivity and intellectual property protection intensity of manufacturing industry are briefly introduced,and the measurement results are briefly analyzed.On this basis,the impact mechanism of producer services FDI and intellectual property protection on manufacturing efficiency is analyzed.On the basis of analysis of the impact mechanism above,put forward the hypothesis and use of the panel model to empirically analyse the impact of the production service industry FDI and intellectual property protection intensity on manufacturing efficiency.Finally,theoretical analysis is based on the empirical results,and policy recommendations are made on how to effectively use the FDI of the production service industry.With the evolution of the Sino-US trade war and the rise of international trade protectionism,intellectual property protection has increasingly become a hot topic,directly related to the formulation of China’s industrial policy.Throughout the existing literature,no one has analyzed the effect of the impact of FDI on the efficiency of manufacturing industry from the perspective of intellectual property protection.Therefore,from the perspective of intellectual property protection,the FDI of productive service industry is analyzed.The impact effect has a certain perspective and innovation.In addition,in the specific empirical research,the human capital,R&D investment,production service industry FDI,trade openness and urbanization level are included as control variables in the model,and the intellectual property protection intensity is also included as an explanatory variablein the model.And with the production service industry FDI to do the intersection,in order to study the impact of intellectual property protection intensity on manufacturing efficiency,reflecting the innovation of research methods.However,although the entry point of this paper is relatively new,the theoretical research on intellectual property protection is relatively small,and the theoretical foundation needs to be improved,which makes it impossible to conduct more in-depth research.Moreover,due to the inconsistency in the definition and statistics of the productive service industry in various provinces in China,this has affected the author’s further research to a certain extent.
