Over the 40 years of reform and opening up,China has formed a relatively complete agricultural technology and industrial system.Some advantageous production capacity needs to be exported and transferred.There is a large number of opportunities for foreign investment.In particular,agricultural supply side reform and industrial transformation and upgrading have provided ample space for investment in agriculture.Developing foreign investment in agricultural is an important part of the grand concept of the “Belt and Road Initiative”and the main way to improve Chinese agricultural global competitiveness and control of the market effectively.In recent years,Chinese foreign investment in agriculture has developed rapidly,expanding the scope of overseas investment,diversifying its investment methods,and gradually becoming the main force in external agricultural investment.Sri Lanka has good conditions for the development of agricultural economy,because of the fertile land with excellent climatic conditions and large production of tropical economic crops.After the domestic war in 2009,Sri Lanka became a hot investment choice gradually.China has a wide demand and a good prospect in agricultural investment when it cooperates with in Sri Lanka.Sri Lanka has a strong desire to solve the problems of hunger,poverty and the security of food.It is an urgent need for this country to construct the farmland water conservancy facilities,agricultural production technology,supply of production materials,processing of agricultural products and construction of warehousing and logistics facilities.Firstly,the PESTLE model was used to evaluate the macro-agricultural investment environment of Sri Lanka from the aspects of natural social environment,political and legal environment,economic and technological environment.Secondly,through analyzing the resource ownership of the three major agricultural regions in Sri Lanka,this paper makes a qualitative analysis of the business activities of three Chinese companies in Sri Lanka,and sums up the regional selection that Chinese enterprises should pay attention to when investing in agriculture in Sri Lanka.Problems and suggestions.Finally,based on the perspectives of the national,industry and enterprise level,I offer some advice for Chinese agricultural investment in Sri Lanka.This paper suggests that China should clearly establish an insurance system for agricultural outward investment,strengthen financial support for agricultural outward investment.We should establish and improve a comprehensive evaluation mechanism for Chinese foreign investment,and cooperate with Sri Lanka to promote international cooperation in agricultural production and investment.The industry association should promote the combination of industrial chains within the agricultural industry.Through regular training of talents and technical exchanges,we will cultivate more internationalized talents for enterprises.For investment enterprises,they must have a deep understanding of Sri Lanka's agricultural investment environment to avoid losses which due to ignorance of investment policy by blind investment.At the same time,it is necessary to improve the enterprise innovation ability and build the brand effect in order to make persistent investment and management.Finally,we must do our best to fulfill the corporate social responsibilities,respect Sri Lanka's local culture and traditional customs,support local cultural and educational activities actively,and actively compromise with local culture.
