Research On The Impact Of Export Duration On Domestic Technology Complexity Of Export Products

After the Doha negotiations stalled,governments around the world began to change their minds and tried to establish bilateral or multilateral free trade agreements.The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement,the RCEP,is the largest free trade agreement possible in Asia and is in full swing.At the same time,scholars gradually turned the "quantity" into "quality" in a country's foreign trade research.In the context of the vertical specialization,the products exported by a country do not accurately reflect the technical level of the country.Based on this,this paper constructs a new index to measure the technical level from the perspective of RCEP,and conducts research and analysis on the technical complexity of China's export products.(1)The traditional method of measuring the technical complexity of export products has many drawbacks.This paper deeply studies the construction model of technical complexity,comprehensively considers the construction methods of scholars at home and abroad,and builds a new index about domestic technical complexity of export products;(2)Using the survival analysis method to measure the export duration of China to other RCEP member countries.The new indicators measure the domestic technical complexity of China's export products to other RCEP member countries,and compare and analyze the complexity of traditional technologies.(3)On the basis of analyzing the impact mechanism,the multivariate regression analysis method is focused on the impact of China's export duration on the technical complexity of export in the perspective of RCEP,and joins and analyzes the robustness of products and exporting countries.The robustness of the regression model.The results show that: First,the “complexity” of Chinese products measured by the domestic technical complexity index of export products is far lower than that under the traditional method,and the technical complexity of China's export products to RCEP member countries has slowly increased in recent years;Second,in terms of the duration of China's export to RCEP member countries,China's export duration is generally short,with a median of only two years,while China's exports to ASEAN countries last for a significantly longer period than non-ASEAN countries.Third,from the perspective of RCEP,the duration of exports has a positive effect on the technical complexity of export.At the same time,the infrastructure of the destination country,China's R&D investment,and the destination country have significantly promoted the domestic technical complexity of China's export products for the OECD countries,while the target country's population,product prices,and economic fluctuations are complex for domestic products of export products.Therefore,based on the RCEP perspective,this paper proposes countermeasures and suggestions from the aspects of measurement export technology complexity,vertical specialization,increasing export duration,and strengthening infrastructure cooperation among member states.
