With the continuous shrinking of the export of traditional manufacturing industry in China,it is imperative to replace the traditional export industry by the high technology industry with the upgrading of the industry.The central region,as an important base for the export of traditional manufacturing industry in China,is facing a severe challenge.How to promote the export growth of manufacturing industry in the six provinces in Central China,especially the export of high-tech products after the transition and upgrading and then optimize the export structure,and finally achieve the purpose of improving the export competitiveness of high-tech products are already urgent.Therefore,this paper intends to study the export competitiveness of high-tech products in the six provinces of central China from the perspective of technical complexity.The main contents of this paper include six aspects:First of all,we have combed the related literature in three aspects including the calculation method of export technology complexity,the influencing factors of export technology complexity,and the research of China’s export technology complexity,then review it.Second,starting from defining the definition of high-tech products and high-tech industries,and putting forward relevant indicators of export competitiveness,this paper expounds the theoretical basis of this study.Third,the export status of high-tech products in the middle six provinces is described from three levels,including the whole,the province and the sub industry.Fourth,we calculated the export technology complexity of six provinces from 2002 to 2015 in terms of industry level and provincial level,further,we compared the competitiveness of high-tech products in six provinces of central China from industry level and provincial level.Fifth,this paper makes a measurement and analysis on the influencing factors of the export technology complexity of high technology products in the six provinces of central China by using Stata software.Finally,the conclusion of the article is drawn and the relevant policy suggestions are put forward to improve the export competitiveness of high-tech products in the six provinces of central China.The research conclusion in this paper is,first,from the industry level,the complexity of export technology of high technology products in the six provinces of central China shows great differences between industries,and the comparative advantage industries in each province are not exactly the same.Among them,the electronics and communication equipment manufacturing industry in Henan province and the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Hubei province are the most competitive industries in all provinces and industries that are exported from the six provinces of central China.Second,from the provincial level,the technical complexity of high-tech exports in all provinces has been significantly increased in the sample period.Meanwhile,there are obvious differences in the complexity of the export technology of high-tech products between provinces,but the gap has a shrinking trend.Third,foreign direct investment and actual per capita GDP have a significant promotion on the export technology complexity of high-tech products;the influence of the level of intellectual property protection on export technology complexity of high-tech products is the trend of "inverted U";Human capital factors have a direct and positive impact on the export technology complexity of high-tech products,it also has an indirect positive impact on the export technology complexity of high-tech products through the path of "human capital-protection of intellectual property rights-the complexity of high-tech products export technology".
