| With a long history of sweet potato cultivation,Fangchenggang City is one of the main sweet potato producing areas in Guangxi.The sweet potato industry has contributed a lot to the development of local economy.With a cultivation history of more than 200 years,the "Red Girl" sweet potato is peculiar to Fangchenggang City,however,its industrialization development has been lagging behind.Aiming at accelerating the promotion and application of "Red Girl" sweet potato of Fangchenggang City and promoting its industrialization development,this paper not only analyzes the advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and challenges in the development of sweet potato industry of Fangchenggang City,but also analyzes the internal and external factors affecting its industrialization development with the help of SWOT,AHP and QSPM analysis methods based on the analysis of the development of potato industry both at home and abroad and the characteristics,current situation and development mode of the sweet potato industry in Fangchenggang City,On this basis,suggestions and countermeasures for the development of sweet potato in Fangchenggang City are put forward.The results are as follows:SWOT analysis shows that the development of sweet potato in Fangchenggang City has the following advantages:unique natural environment and resources,abundant land resources,good scientific and technological conditions,rural labor resources and brand;its disadvantages are:extensive cultivation mode and output mode;weak industrial foundation;difficult land intensive;low enthusiasm of farmers for sweet potato cultivation;single and degrading variety,decline in production caused by frequent diseases and insect pests.Nowadays,with the improvement of people's health concept and consciousness and the increasing demand for miscellaneous grains,the development of sweet potato industry is facing the opportunity of government support such as government's precise poverty alleviation,national policy guidance,and the adjustment of regional agricultural industry structure.In recent years,affected by many factors including the raid development of sweet potato industry in Southeast Asian countries and domestic provinces and cities,the price fluctuation,the increasing demand of consumers for diversified varieties and quality consumption,the frequent potato virus diseases and other factors,the sweet market becomes unstable and the sustainable development of the sweet potato industry is facing severe challenges.AHP analysis shows that the present sweet potato industry in Fangchenggang City can make response not only to external opportunities and threats by taking advantage of favorable opportunities and avoiding unfavorable threats in a suitable way but also to internal advantages and disadvantages by making use of the advantages to eliminate disadvantages in an appropriate way.Through QSPM matrix analysis,we found that the centralized strategy was being complemented,the reasons of which are as follows:firstly,there is no perfect sweet potato industry chain(product gap)in Fangchenggang city;secondly,there is no perfect relevant sweet potato or no complete sales channel system in relevant market of sweet potato(sales gap);secondly,the sweet potential of potato industry in Fangchenggang has not been fully utilized(utilization gap);finally,there are no other alternatives(sales gap)sold in the market(sales gap).Based on the SWOT,AHP and QSPM analysis,the following countermeasures and suggestions for the development of sweet potato industry in Fangchenggang City were put forward:popularizing rural cooperative,guiding farmers to cultivate virus-free and healthy sweet potato seedling;constructing the fine variety base of sweet potato;increasing government support;improving technical training and demonstration,increasing investment in scientific research.breaking through the bottleneck of deep processing industrialization,improving business model,innovating mechanism,strengthening market supervision,and further improving relevant industry standards. |
