The corridor is the important material foundation of the social and economic development. The construction of the corridor itself can bring economic value, and the transport activities generated by the corridor can also bring economic value. This paper studies the necessity and feasibility of the formation of the Western Corridor from the perspective of strategic planning, and systematically understands the economic value of the Western Corridor so as to expand its opening to the outside world and promote and strengthen regional economic cooperation between China,Mongolia and Russia more effectively.Drive local economic development to provide scientific support. The main contents and conclusions are as follows:Firstly, the spatial layout of "one axis and two porches" is put forward. One axis: the International land-sea Trade corridor,Yangtze River corridor-Chongqing-GuangyuanBaoji-Zhongwei-Bayanhaote-Uliji Port-Dalanzad Gade-Ulaanbaatar-Ulaanwud-Siberian Railway.Western Corridor: Kunming-Chengdu-Guangyuan-Longnan-LanzhouJiayuguan-Ejina Banner Zeke Port-Dalanzad de Gade.East Corridor: new corridors for international land-sea trade-Chongqing-Dazhou-Ankang-Xi'an-Yan'an-Yinchuan-LinheGanqimaodu Port-Dalanzad de Gade. The Western Corridor can effectively communicate the new Eurasian Continental Bridge,China,Mongolia and Russia,China-Central AsiaWest Asia,China-Indo-China Peninsula,Bangladesh,China,India and Myanmar, and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which is the ”Closing Project” of the Belt and Road Initiative.Secondly, the concept of corridor economic value is defined, and the formation mechanism of corridor economic value is analyzed. This paper reviews the elements of economic growth and the role of corridors from the perspective of economics and regional economics. It also puts forward the concept of economic value of corridor, and thinks that the economic value of corridor is mainly expressed in two aspects: direct economic value and indirect economic value.Direct economic value refers to the economic value brought by people directly engaged in the production activities related to the passageway, such as the construction of transportation infrastructure and the manufacturing of transportation means; The indirect economic value refers to the transportation activity which takes the passage as the carrier, brings the production factor and the commodity flow, provides the premise that people carry on the direct production activity, indirectly brings the economic value. The indirect economic value is divided into transportation value, trade value and regional economic value.the mechanism of their interaction to produce economic value is analyzed. Then, the economic value of the Western Corridor is empirically studied. In the empirical study of the value of trade,an extended trade gravity model is established, and the imaginary variable of joining the friendly city variable and opening the Sino-European train is found innovatively. In the demonstration of regional economic value, the corridor is innovatively added to the "trade-regional economic growth" model, which is developed into the "channel-trade-regional economic growth" model, and trade is added to the simultaneous equation model as an exogenous variable. And this paper uses the panel data from 2008 to 2017 at the provincial and municipal level, focusing on the economic value of the cities along the route, and the results are persuasive. To sum up,the construction of the western corridor is necessary, which can bring great economic value to the western region, benefit the development of the western region of our country, and also affect the long-term interests of the western region of our country,Mongolia,Russia and even Europe.
