The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to implement a regional coordinated development strategy and strengthen measures to promote a new pattern for the development of the western region. In addition to realizing the continuous growth of the regional economy, the development of the western region should also pay attention to the special division of labor and cooperation between regions, continuously narrow the regional economic gap,and finally achieve the goal of coordinated regional economic development. In the western part of China, including the southwestern region and the northwestern region, from the descriptive statistics,in recent years, the economic linkages between cities in the northwestern region have become closer and closer, and the urban economic linkages have shown an obvious network-like structure, along with the urban economic and economic network.Development, will the regional economic gap in the Northwest region shrink or expand? Is it convergence or divergence? This paper attempts to combine the multi-regional economic growth pole with the urban economic linkage network.Through this research, this paper analyzes the changes of the regional economic gap in the northwest region, finds ways to achieve the regional economic growth, and provides theoretical reference for the coordinated development of the regional economy. This paper first systematically sorts out relevant research and theory on the impact of growth poles, urban economic linkages, regional economic gaps and urban economic linkages on regional economic disparities at home and abroad.Secondly, the analysis unit based on prefecture-level cities, using scale The weighted economic growth rate indicator measures the contribution of cities in the northwest region to the economic development of the northwest region from the perspectives of economic scale and growth rate,so as to determine whether a city is a core competitive city;subsequently, based on the revised gravitation model Gravity(economic linkage strength)among several core competitive cities in the northwest region was measured, and the economic linkage network of core competitive cities in the northwest region was established based on urban economic linkages, and the characteristics analysis and block model analysis of the network were carried out. Finally, the measurement over the years was reflected. The network density index of the network structure and the Gini coefficient index and the coefficient of variation index reflecting the regional economic gap empirically study the impact of changes in network density on the regional economic gap as the urban economic relationship becomes more and more close.Based on the above research, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Xi'an,Urumqi,Lanzhou,Xining and Yinchuan are the five core competitive cities supporting the economic development of the Northwest, and at the same time verify that the growth pole has strong stability in space.(2)This paper measures the "economic" quality of the cities in the northwestern region and the intensity of economic linkages between cities in 1996-2016.It is found that the "economic" quality and economic linkage strength of the core competitive cities in the northwest region show significant spatial non-equilibrium distribution.Characteristics, the quality of "economic" has shown a trend of decreasing from east to west, and the intensity of economic linkages has been monotonously decreasing from east to west, but the quality of urban "economic" and the intensity of economic linkage between cities have emerged. In a monotonously increasing trend, the economic ties between the two cities are getting closer.(3)Based on the economic linkages between cities, the economic linkage network of the core competitive cities in the northwest region was established, and the network characteristics were analyzed. The study found that:First, the network density of the urban economic linkage network in the northwestern region is not high, but the overall trend shows an increasing trend.Second, after analyzing the correlation of the network,it is found that the urban economic linkage network in the northwest region has a good Relevance, that is,there are multiple economic linkages"pipes" for the benefit transfer, and there are universal economic links among the core competition cities.Third, after measuring the network hierarchy,it is found that the economic relationship between the cities in the northwest region is Only in the two cities with considerable economic development level, there is the possibility of economic linkages. Finally,a central analysis of the network reveals that no matter from the measurement results of the relative degree centrality From the point of view of the calculation of the central center,Lanzhou has always been the "center" of the economic linkage network of the core competitive cities in the northwest region. This also shows that Lanzhou is more likely to achieve economic ties with other cities and play a role in bridging other cities.,playing an important "intermediary"function in the urban economic network(4)A block model analysis of the urban economic connection network revealed that Xi'an was a net spillover segment,Lanzhou and Xining were economic people, and Yinchuan and Urumqi were the main beneficiaries.Xi'an is the largest city in the northwest region. It drives the economic development of Yinchuan and Urumqi through urban economic linkages. However, this kind of driving is not directly realized, but is realized indirectly through the "bridge" of the economic man sector.(5)As the economic ties between cities become more and more close, the density of urban economic networks increases year by year, and there is a significant impact on the regional economic gap.Our research finds that as the network density increases, the regional economic gap is gradually narrowing.
