The green Belt and Road is deeply in line with the actual demand of China’s economic transformation,with the development from input driven to innovation driven as its core,and the improvement of the green total factor productivity(TFP)as its foothold.As an important support of the green Belt and Road construction,the logistics industry’s development effectiveness is obviously related to the depth and breadth of the green Belt and Road construction.Improving the development level of green TFP in logistics industry is not only an effective mechanism to solve its current development bottleneck and realize the high-quality development,but also a pragmatic approach to give full play to the role of logistics industry as a booster in the green Belt and Road construction.Being the primary force in the green Belt and Road construction,China’s provinces along the route can not only benefit from their active participating in the construction,but also their strategic support and leverage are related to the construction effectiveness and progress of the green Belt and Road.It is of great significance to estimate the development status of provincial green TFP and analyze the influencing factors of green TFP development,which can accelerate the high-quality development of provincial logistics industry and boost the green Belt and Road.Based on the perspective of China’s primary provinces along the Belt and Road,this paper is the first to evaluate the dynamic evolution and regional heterogeneity on green TFP of provincial logistics industry with the GML index based on SBM directional distance function,analyze the power source,and discuss its influencing factors,research shows that:(1)The green TFP of provincial logistics industry along the Belt and Road shows a positive trend on the whole,with the green technology progress as its main driving force.(2)The green TFP development of provincial logistics industry along the Maritime Silk Road is better than that in provinces along the Silk Road Economic Belt.Green technology progress is the driving force of the green TFP in two regions while the green technology efficiency development of logistics industry in these two regions is quite different.(3)The green TFP development of each provincial logistics industry along the Belt and Road is uneven,among which Guangdong and Zhejiang are the first while Qinghai and Hainan are the last.The green TFP of logistics industry in 7 provinces such as Shanghai and Fujian shows a cyclical trend of "M".The green TFP of logistics industry in 10 provinces such as Guangdong and Xinjiang shows a cyclical trend of "W".(4)There is a non-linear "U" type relationship between provincial economic development along the route and the green TFP of logistics industry,the current low economic development of the provinces along the route shows a restrictive effect on the green TFP of logistics industry.The trade,government intervention and R&D investment between provinces and countries along the route significantly promote the green TFP of logistics industry.The green TFP of provincial logistics industry along the route shows significant improvement before and after the Belt and Road construction.The impact of various factors on green technology progress of logistics industry is basically consistent with that of green TFP except the government intervention.(5)There is a non-linear "U" type relationship between provincial economic development along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the green TFP of logistics industry,the current low economic development restricts the green TFP development of logistics industry.Trade between provinces and countries along the route and government intervention significantly promote the development of green TFP of logistics industry.The current information infrastructure along the route restricts the green TFP development in the logistics industry.The green TFP of provincial logistics industry along the route does not improve significantly before and after the Belt and Road construction.The impact of various factors on green technology progress of logistics industry is basically consistent with that of green TFP except the government intervention.(6)There is a non-linear "U" type relationship between provincial economic development along the Maritime Silk Road and the green TFP of logistics industry,the current low economic development restricts the green TFP development of logistics industry.Trade between provinces and countries along the route,government intervention and R&D investment have significantly promoted the green TFP of logistics industry.The green TFP of provincial logistics industry along the route shows significant improvement before and after the Belt and Road construction.The impact of various factors on green technology progress of logistics industry is basically consistent with that of green TFP except the government intervention.
