As a fundamental and strategic industry of the national economy,China has not only achieved economic growth, but also increased environmental pressure. The "Medium and Long-term Plan for the Development of the Logistics Industry" states that in recent years we must focus on improving logistics efficiency, reducing logistics costs, and alleviating resources and environmental pressures.Accelerating the construction of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society is a goal that China needs to work hard during the "13th Five-Year Plan".To realize the development of green economy, the key is to improve China's green total factor productivity and promote the transformation of economy from denotation to connotation.Economic globalization makes China deeply integrated into the value chain division of labor system, and the global division system with FDI as the carrier plays an important role in promoting green total factor productivity. The improvement of green total factor productivity cannot be separated from the global division of labor system with foreign direct investment as a carrier. In order to realize the transformation and upgrading of the logistics industry,in addition to raising the level of domestic human capital, implementing the talent introduction policy, and increasing the intensity of high-tech research and development, domestic technological progress can be achieved indirectly through technology spillover from abroad, and foreign direct investment is an important way to achieve this goal, thus promoting the win-win situation of environment and efficiency. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the impact of foreign direct investment on the green total factor productivity of the logistics industry.Firstly, this article sorts out the relevant theories of foreign direct investment motivation in logistics industry, and then analyzes the impact mechanism of foreign direct investment on the green total factor productivity of the logistics industry.Secondly, analyze the current overall situation of the logistics industry and the development of foreign direct investment in the logistics industry through relevant data.Thirdly, this paper uses SBM directional distance function and ML productivity index to measure the green total factor productivity of China's logistics industry from 2003 to 2017,and analyzes it from the aspects of overall and regional. Finally, this paper studies the impact of foreign direct investment on the green total factor productivity of China's logistics industry by constructing a static panel model, and tests its robustness. The study shows that firstly the overall development status of the logistics industry is good, the overall scale of the logistics industry is gradually expanding, the added value of logistics and its total amount are also increasing, and the growth rate of total costs has slowed down and its share of GDP has declined, but there is still a large gap with developed countries, and the energy consumption structure has changed from coal to clean energy.Secondly,in general, the green total factor productivity of the logistics industry in China has been improved, and technological progress is the main driving force for the green total factor productivity of the logistics industry.By region, from 2003 to 2017,the green total factor productivity of the logistics industry in the central and western regions of China was slightly higher than that in the eastern regions. This is related to the great changes in the conditions of incomplete infrastructure, underdeveloped transportation, inferior geographical environment, and relatively weak scientific and technological innovation capabilities in the central and western regions under the implementation of national policies.Thirdly, foreign direct investment has significantly promoted the development of green total factor productivity in the logistics industry across the country and the eastern region, but for the central and western regions, the promotion effect is not significant; The impact of transportation network density, environmental regulation and government intervention on the green total factor productivity of the logistics industry is consistent in the national and regional samples; The influence of regional economic development level and informatization level on the green total factor productivity of the logistics industry shows regional differences. In order to improve the green and low-carbon development of the logistics industry,China should improve the quality of foreign direct investment, give full play to the positive role of foreign direct investment in the green total factor productivity of the logistics industry, and formulate industrial policies based on regional differences and the rational use of the comparative advantages of each region. We can consider from the following aspects: First, improve the quality of foreign direct investment and develop green logistics.Second, adjust the energy structure and improve the utilization of green energy.Third, improve the infrastructure network and promote thelogistics industry to improve quality and efficiency.Fourth, pay attention to regional differences and formulate a reasonable intensity of environmental regulations.Fifth, give play to the government-oriented role and coordinate the imbalance of the logistics industry among regions.
