Since entering the 21st century,the market economy has developed widely in many industries,where notable realization of the economy market has been achieved.However,Chinese construction enterprises face challenges with regard to development under these economic conditions.Performance appraisal is one specific area where these companies encounter difficulties.The goal of such appraisal is simply to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.This appraisal must be scientific and efficient to achieve and establish enterprise strategies for a competitive position in the market.As an example,human resource management within the QD Branch of CSCEC still uses the traditional model of personnel management,which belongs to formalism.Additionally,further development of human resource management within the company hasn't kept pace with the development of the economy.Employee potential hasn't been developed wisely and the employee's enthusiasm hasn't been stimulated.This affects the achievement of overall company goals by hindrance of company progression.This work used the company as a prototype to study the issues mentioned above.Firstly,the effect of performance appraisal on the enterprise development was examined.This work also reviewed the strategic significance of a performance appraisal system and its drawbacks in detail.Finally,using combined results on the domestic and foreign performance appraisal,a questionnaire survey was developed by using the theory of performance appraisal with consideration of problems found in the company.Analysis was performed using the KPI method and specific suggestions and practicable strategies are proposed to improve the system of performance appraisal in the QD Branch of CSCEC.
