A Comparative Study On City Innovation Competitiveness Of China's Eastern Coastal Areas

The 18th National Congress of the CPC clearly puts forward implementing the strategy of innovation-driven development.We must follow a path of making innovation with Chinese features and take steps to promote innovation to catch up with global advances.We should increase our greater emphasis on making original innovation and integrated innovation and for making further innovation on the basis of absorbing advances in overseas science and technology,and place greater emphasis on making innovation through collaboration.In strategic background of speeding up the building of an innovative country and innovation-driven development,many areas in China,especially the large and medium-sized cities are paying more and more attention to their own innovation ability construction.Beijing,Shanghai,Shenzhen and many other cities have proposed the strategic target of constructing an innovative city.China's eastern coastal area is the most developed area of China's economic development,and its innovation competitiveness often is also the highest expression of China's innovation competitiveness.Thus,on the basis of the existing research on urban innovation competitiveness,the paper discusses the basic theory of urban innovation competence,try to define the connotation of urban innovation competence and explain its elements model,and build the city innovation competitiveness evaluation index system.Then,the paper analyzes the current development conditions of city innovation in China's eastern coastal areas,evaluates and comparatively studies 14 city's innovation competitiveness in China's eastern coastal areas.Combining the international successful practices of city innovation competitiveness,the paper gives some policy recommendations on enhancing the city innovation competitiveness in China's eastern coastal areas.
