The logistics industry has gradually become an important part of the national economy and plays a supportive role in the development of China’s economy. It is important to study the logistics competitiveness of East China and further improve the operation and management level of logistics enterprises in order to achieve the economic development of the region.Based on the "diamond model",this paper constructs an index system for evaluating the logistics competitiveness of East China, and uses the entropy TOPSIS method and the obstacle factor diagnosis method to evaluate the logistics competitiveness of the six provinces and one city in East China during the period of 2010-2020.The study shows that the logistics competitiveness of the region between 2010 and2020 has been evaluated by the entropy-weighted TOPSIS method. The study shows that the regional logistics competitiveness is relatively stable in terms of production factors and demand conditions in most provinces and cities.Related and supporting industries have the most direct role in shaping the competitive advantage of the regional logistics industry.Jiangsu Province has maintained its top ranking in the overall competitiveness score, followed by Shandong Province.2020 East China has weaker corporate strategies, structures and peer competition, the development of related and supporting industries is lagging behind, and the development of science and technology innovation has not received good attention from the government.Regionally, the number of three types of patents granted(G2)is an important obstacle factor limiting the development of the logistics industry in Shanghai and Shandong Province, indicating that the science and technology innovation capacity of these two regions needs to be improved. In addition to Shanghai, the main obstacle factor for the remaining six provinces in East China is the proportion of total import and export of goods to GDP(E1),and the highest obstacle in Shandong Province is 28.86%,indicating that these six provinces are not very open to the outside world, thus hindering the development of logistics industry. The value added to GDP ratio of the logistics industry tops the list of barriers in Jiangsu,Zhejiang and Fujian, with a barrier level of24.3% in Jiangsu Province, indicating that the logistics industry needs to be upgraded in the respective national economies. It is suggested that East China should build a new pattern of opening up to the outside world, continue to optimize the logistics demand structure, steadily upgrade the logistics supply structure, accelerate the adjustment of the supply and demand structure, continue to optimize logistics costs, and reduce logistics costs by integrating logistics resources, deepening the reform of "management and administration" in the circulation field, matching people and goods, and reducing the vacancy rate of round-trip vehicles.Reasonable allocation of resources, enhance the role of radiation driven by the superior provinces, give full play to the "six provinces and one city" respective resource advantages.Competitively disadvantaged provinces should seize strategic opportunities to make up for the current shortcomings in the development of the logistics industry through policies and financial support.Provinces and cities should break down administrative barriers,so as to improve the overall level of logistics competitiveness in East China and form a positive interaction between the regions.
