Development Strategies Of County Fertilizer Enterprises

The core of county economy is small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs),.this paper focuses on the business environment and developing strategies of county fertilizer companies.The fertilizer enterprises in rural areas are close to production markets and at the leading edge of the employment of surplus labor force,the characteristics of their business development are completely different from that of large-scale fertilizer firms.They are crucial to the understanding and exploration of the solutions to the "Three Rural Issues".In this paper,we carried out an extensive review of the relevant literature and used economic management theories to analyze the case of Shanxi Maile Fertilizer Company.More specifically,we synthesized the domestic and foreign research achievements regarding county economic conditions and the development of SMEs,discussed the growth process of Shanxi Maile Fertilizer Company,and highlighted its main features.Based on previous literature,we selected enterprise performance evaluation indicators and designed a questionnaire survey along with data collection forms in order to get more accurate information about the company’s business environment and growth prospects during a field investigation.Using Porter’s Five Forces Model,we emphasized the survival of Maile Company by analyzing its financial data and comparing its development status to that of relevant fertilizer enterprises in Chifeng Inner Mongolia and other new major fertilizer companies.And,based on the results of our analysis,we put forward a certain number of suggestions and recommendations as to the strategies the company should enact in order to set out on the path of growth and contribute to resolving the "Three Rural Issues".Throughout our case study,we found that:firstly,county fertilizer companies can actually promote rural economies and alleviate the" Three Rural Issues";secondly,the new fertilizer market has great potential for growth,which means that firms can increase their investment for innovation and marketing;lastly,Maile Fertilizer Company can diversify its financing channels via New Third Board listings,which can effectively improve its investment value and expand its development prospects.
