Throughout the development history of the Chinese nation over 5,000 years,China is a traditional agricultural country, and agricultural development has a great impact on China's economic and social development. With the continuous advancement of reform and opening up,China's industry and agriculture have developed rapidly, but at the same time it has also intensified the imbalance of regional development in China. In recent years, with the development concept of"innovation, coordination, green, openness, sharing",the Party Central Committee has paid more and more attention to ecological civilization and paid more attention to the development of agriculture and rural areas. The evaluation of rural sustainable development is a quantitative description of the capacity and development level of sustainable development in rural areas through quantitative indicators.Achieving quantitative evaluation of rural sustainable development level has important practical significance for discovering problems in the process of rural sustainable development and formulating and implementing corresponding sustainable development strategies. At the same time, through the construction and evaluation of the index system of rural sustainable development in different regions, the sustainable development theory can also be enriched and improved in the feedback. This paper selects the typical cities in the east and central regions-Suzhou City and Xiaogan City.According to the meaning of sustainable development in rural areas, from the three subsystems of economy, society and resources environment,a total of 17 specific indicators have been selected to build rural areas.A system of evaluation indicators for sustainable development.A total of five years of data from 2013 to 2017 were selected and the principal component analysis method was used to compare and analyze the rural sustainable development levels of the two cities. In the end,the comprehensive scores of the two cities show that the sustainable development of rural areas in Suzhou and Xiaogan City showed an upward trend in 2013-2017,and the increase rate was relatively large. Then, this paper discusses the factors affecting the sustainable development of rural areas in the eastern and central cities of Suzhou and Xiaogan City, points out the problems of rural sustainable development in the two places, and integrates the sustainable development of rural areas in the two cities. The problems mainly include the following aspects:rural environmental pollution problems, including the unreasonable use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, the transfer of urban pollution, straw burning and the raising of rural animals and poultry;the lack of rural resources and the waste of resources The problem of irrational rural economy;the problem of unreasonable urbanization in rural areas;the problem of serious shortage of rural labor. Finally, according to the problems faced by rural sustainable development in the two cities, the paper proposes ways to sustainable development in the eastern and central rural areas, including the concept of correct rural development;rational development and utilization of rural energy resources;and the establishment of a more complete sustainable development system;Rural culture thus better mobilizes the vitality of rural sustainable development.Based on the above research and analysis, this paper has the following enlightenment for sustainable development in rural areas:we cannot develop blindly at the same time of development,we must pay more attention to sustainable development, and development is to enable people and society to survive and live better.Instead of sacrifice for development. We must develop rationally, develop rationally, and develop scientifically and effectively.Only in this way can future generations be able to develop and live in peace forever.
