In an ever-changing external environment,companies must constantly change and improve their capabilities in order to remain competitive.As a kind of ability to help enterprises “change their ability”,dynamic capabilities can help enterprises flexibly change their current business model,adapt to the dynamic external environment,get rid of the risks brought by inertia traps,and prompt enterprises to get out of the rigid existing state,thus actively explore better development possibilities.Therefore,managers began to pay attention to the cultivation of corporate dynamic capabilities.In previous studies,scholars focused on the beneficial effects of dynamic capabilities on firm performance and competitiveness,while relatively little research has been done on the sources and formation mechanisms of dynamic capabilities.In the study of dynamic capability forming factors,most of them only consider the beneficial effects of knowledge on dynamic capabilities.Few articles categorize knowledge,and determine which attributes have more significant impact on dynamic capabilities,thus helping enterprises to find the knowledge firm need targetedly.In addition to knowledge,some scholars believe that the behaviors and capabilities of managers,especially senior managers,can also influence the dynamic capabilities of enterprises.Therefore,this paper divides the behavior of enterprise cross-border knowledge acquisition into cross-border search width and cross-border search depth,and then studies the influence mechanism of different degrees of cross-border search on dynamic capabilities,and attempts to explain the transformation mechanism of knowledge forming ability by mindfulness of executives.This not only provides a meaningful reference for enterprises that want to improve their dynamic capabilities,but also connects the disciplines of psychology,Buddhism and management in academics,thus enriching the mechanism research of cross-border knowledge on enterprises,the research of executive psychology on business capabilities,and the research on the formation of dynamic capabilities.Based on this,this paper focuses on the beneficial effects and mechanisms of cross-border search on dynamic capability improvement,and attempts to provide theoretical help for enterprises that want to improve their dynamic capabilities.On the basis of extensive review of relevant literatures,this paper summarizes the sources,concepts and interrelationships of related variables in the paper.Based on knowledge-based theory and high-order theory,the key elements of executive mindfulness are included in the search strategy's influence on the dynamic capabilities of enterprises.In the research framework,the mechanism of searching for depth and width to enhance the dynamic capabilities of enterprises is studied,and the differences between the two are distinguished.Then,this paper surveyed the executives of different types of enterprises in eastern China through online questionnaires,interviews,telephone calls and e-mails,and obtained 180 valid questionnaires.Further,this paper tests the hypothesis through empirical methods.The data processing mainly uses SPSS19.0 and AMOS22.0.The analysis methods mainly include reliability analysis and validity analysis of the questionnaire,Pearson factor analysis,hierarchical regression analysis,and bootstrap method.Through empirical research,the paper draws the following conclusions:(1)The depth of cross-border search has a significant positive impact on the dynamic capabilities of enterprises.(2)Executives' mindfulness plays a part in mediating the relationship between cross-border search depth and dynamic ability and adaptability,and plays a full intermediary role in the relationship between search depth,absorptive capacity and innovation ability.(3)The cross-border search width has no significant impact on the dynamic capabilities of the enterprise.The research results show that the wider knowledge search has little help for the improvement of dynamic capabilities,and the deeper the cross-border search of enterprises,the more favorable the improvement of dynamic capabilities.In order to improve dynamic capabilities,enterprises need to conduct more in-depth search for a certain knowledge source.Executives' righteous thoughts encourage executives to conduct preliminary analysis and coding of cross-border search knowledge,which enhances the efficiency of knowledge transfer within the enterprise,which is conducive to enhancing the dynamic capabilities of the enterprise.Therefore,in order to accelerate the process of transforming the knowledge acquired by cross-border search into dynamic capabilities,enterprises also need to pay attention to the cultivation of executives' righteous thoughts.
