| Corporate social responsibility(CSR)is one of the most prominent concepts in the literature and in short,indicates the positive impacts of business on their stakeholders.This theme of Corporate Social Responsibility was mostly developed between the year 1960s and 1970s.Thus Frederick(1960)argued that all means of production should be used in such a way that as to improve overall socio-socio economic welfare for all.CSR is defined as the obligation of decision makers to take actions which protect and improve the welfare of society along with their own interests,despite the growing body of literature on this concept,the measure of CSR is still problematic.Although the literature provides several methods for measuring corporate social activities,almost all of them have some limitations.The study investigates the employees’perception of CSR practices in Namibia the context of the Brewery industry in Namibia.A purposive sampling was employed to choose a company.The company employees 500 employees and survey was used to collect information from 150 Namibian Brewery company employees’ professionals.This research study utilized both Qualitative and Quantitative research design to collect data that make it possible to provide response to the research questions.Descriptive analysis used in the study proposed that the employees are satisfied with the CSR practices in general.Like most of the previous studies,this study also observed that there is a strong positive relationship perceived CSR practices and its 4 dimensions in this study mostly CSR practices related to environment,community,working place and market place,Further,the study observes a positive relationship between perceived CSR and its 4 domains in the study.Furthermore there is a positive inter-relationship between employee perceptions of CSR practice domains.The result of the finding shows that the Namibia Breweries Limited Company employees appreciated the CSR practices at least 85%level.The uniqueness of this study lies on its framework based on the perception of employees.Formulated Recommendations based on conclusion suggested that organizations should consider adopting workplace policies and practices that involve both employee and societal perspectives.Future recommendation for further research suggest researchers to concentrate investigate other factors that might influence the level of CSR practices like belief,justice and ethical. |
