With the rapid advance of industrialization, urbanization and rural labor flow in non-agricultural industries, the problems of land fragmentation, distortion of land resources allocation and low utilization efficiency caused by institutional defects in the household contract responsibility system have become increasingly prominent.,which not only plagued the development of China's rural economy and the improvement of agricultural output, but also adversely affected the growth of farmers' income. Therefore, how to realize the optimal allocation of land resources has attracted the attention of policymakers. It is a common consensus to effectively allocate land resources through land transfer for realizing scale management of agriculture and increasing farmers' income. After years of practice, the development of China's land transfer market has achieved remarkable results, promoting China's agricultural large-scale operation, and constantly improving the income of farmers. However, the income level of farmers in China is still lower than that of urban residents, and the income gap between the two is widening. In this context,it is necessary to deepen the understanding of the relationship between land transfer and household income, and study the impact of land transfer on household income in a more detailed way. This paper discusses the impact of land transfer on farmers' income from the perspective of farmers' differentiation in order to provide theoretical basis and practical suggestions for the government to find policies to improve farmers' income level. This paper firstly teases the literature and research status of farmers' differentiation, land transfer and farmers' income, the relevant theoretical basis is expounded. On this basis,Combined with the mixed cross-section data of China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)from 2010 to 2016,the paper initial analyzes the current situation of farmers' differentiation, land transfer and farmers' income in China. Then, from the perspective of farmers' differentiation, the farmers are divided into pure agricultural households, agricultural part-time households,non-agricultural part-time households and non-agricultural households, this paper empirically analyzes the impact of land transfer on the income of different types of farmers. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)Land transfer generally promotes the improvement of household income levels of all types of farmers, but the impact of land renting and land lease-out on the net income of different types of farmers has obvious heterogeneity.(2)There are significant differences in the impact of land transfer behavior on wage income and operating income of various types of farmers. Finally, combined with the research conclusions, the paper puts forward corresponding policy suggestions on how to develop the land transfer market and promote the increase in farmers' income.
