In recent years,China's agricultural modernization has gradually entered a new period of development.The construction of market economy has made quality the main point of competition,which puts higher standards on the quality of agricultural products.Agricultural production has shifted from focusing on quantity accumulation to focusing on quality improvement,from traditional form to modern form,from extensive development to integrated development.Therefore,it is necessary for China to carry out training on agricultural science and technology popularization for farmers so that farmers can master the agricultural science and technology knowledge and skills they need.Therefore,what kind of needs do farmers need to understand about agricultural science and technology training? What are the factors that restrict farmers' willingness to participate in agricultural science and technology training?This paper takes the willingness of farmers in Wenjiang District of Chengdu to participate in agricultural science and technology training as an entry point,and learns about the local farmers' agricultural science and technology training through interviews,finds a series of problems,and explains the factors affecting farmers' participation in agricultural science and technology training.In this study,about300 farmers from 6 villages in Jinma Town,Yongning Town and Yongsheng Town of Wenjiang District were surveyed,and 246 valid questionnaires were obtained.Descriptive statistical analysis of survey data shows that farmers' personal characteristics,family characteristics,and training factor selection characteristics affect farmers' willingness to participate in agricultural science and technology training,including education level,training experience,household arable land,and agricultural income.The six factors,the expected training venue and the most acceptable training duration,have a significant impact on farmers' willingness to participate in agricultural science and technology training.Further empirical analysis using the binary logistic model shows that thefactors affecting farmers' willingness to participate in agricultural science and technology training are mainly the five factors of education level,family farmland,agricultural income,training location and training cost.At the same time,this paper can be seen from the survey results of the farmers' willingness and demand of agricultural science and technology training in Wenjiang District of Chengdu,the farmers' willingness to participate is strong and the demand for training is different.According to the survey,local farmers mainly have the strongest demand for livestock and poultry disease prevention and control technology and agricultural machinery use and maintenance technology.Combined with empirical analysis and theoretical research,the following suggestions are proposed: farmers in Wenjiang District of Chengdu should overcome conservative ideas and actively participate in agricultural science and technology training;the government should strengthen agricultural science and technology training and propaganda in rural areas,strengthen investment in agricultural science and technology training,and meet the strong needs of farmers.Agricultural science and technology training participates in willingness,cultivates service awareness,and builds a training evaluation system;training institutions should improve the quality of teachers,guide farmers' needs,optimize the allocation of training content,and enrich the types of training.Farmers need to change their minds,take the initiative to learn the relevant content of agricultural science and technology training policies,actively participate in scientific and technological training to meet their actual needs,and pay attention to the actual transformation of learning content.
