The Components And The Making Of Tourism Destination Imagination Of Phoenix City In Western Hunan Province

Tourism destination imagination is an important research topic in the field of tourism,and theoretical and empirical research is constantly emerging.In recent years,the research about tourism destinations imagination has shown multiple perspectives.Some foreign scholars have explored the tourism destination imagination based on the "imaginary geography" theory,and explaining the influence of social culture and political process on the tourism destination imagination.On the contrary,there are few scholars in China who analyze tourism destination imagination from this theory.Therefore,it is great practical and theoretical significance to study the tourism destination imagination based on the "imaginary geography" theory.And the article selects the Phoenix city in Xiangxi as a case,and uses the interview methods,content analysis method and discourse analysis methods to explore the component of tourism destination imagination and the making of multiple subjects.Research indicates:(1)Tourism destination imagination is a mapping between the subject and the object,that is,the imagination and perception of the tourist(subject)about the tourism destination(object).And the tourism imagination of Xiangxi phoenix cityis composed of six themes,including traditional imagination,mysterious imagination,romantic imagination and literary imagination and modern imagination.(2)The making of the tourism destination imagination is a diachronic construction process by multiple subjects.Tourists construct the tourism destination imagination in interaction with governments,tourism companies(tourism developers and operators),literary artists,and the media.Multiple subjects play their respective roles at different stages.There are including two construction types in the process: initial construction and reconstruction;and tourists are not passive recipients in the construction process,but have a certain degree of autonomy.Compared with other construction subjects,the tourists play an important role through the whole construction process.Based on the imaginary geography theory,the article has revealed the making process and construction type of tourism destination imagination,which broadens the research perspective of tourism destination imagination to a certain extent,and provides some theoretical support for subsequent research.The article also analyzes the specific component of tourism destination imagination,which has certain reference signifi-cance for actual planning of tourism destination image.
