With the strong continued growth of China economy,the logistics industry in our country is in the stage of transformation and upgration.Meanwhile,Chinese logistics companies are facing increasingly fierce competitions.Thus,how to improve the productivity of logistics companies has become the first priority in development strategies for most of the companies.It is well-known that the efficiency of human resources is a very important aspect of the overall production efficiency in companies.Since in the current stage,Chinese logistics companies are mostly labor-intensive,scientific evaluations of human resources efficiency in automobile logistics sector are of important significance.By considering the special characteristics of automobile logistics,this research studies the evaluation of human resource efficiency of logistics companies using DEA method.Specifically,3 works has been carried out in this research.First of all,based on the theory of efficiency,we make a clear definition of the concept,efficiency of human resources.We believe that the efficiency of human resources is a kind of human resource allocation efficiency.The human resource is treated as an important factor in production processes and there are three categories that human resources investment would affect production efficiency: quantity,quality,and structure of human resources.Secondly,the current statuses of logistics companies are analyzed.Based on the analysis,we develop a multi-input and multi-output DEA model in our study.The selected output criteria are: the amount of automobile production,the production line stop time,and the amount of damage.And four input criteria are: the number of manager,the number of operational employees,the number of functional employees,and fixed assets.Finally,this research adopts actual data(from 2013 to 2016)from an automobile logistics company and test the developed DEA model based on them.In the data sample,there are 5 business units.Our DEA model is able to identify where the wastes are and to suggest how to effectively allocate of human resources in the studied automobile logistics company.
