D Company Y Series Products Production Flow Improvement Base On Value Stream Map Analysis

This paper mainly studies how to improve the manufacture line production efficiency and reduce the waste through using the technology of "lean value stream mapping”,including use the technology to improve the enterprise corresponding speed of service to the customer,delivery speed,reduce the internal waste and provide customer with the best products that exceed the customer expectation.The Methods we used are based on the theory of lean production value stream map analysis technology and industry engineering analysis techniques,the line will became more flexible with the improving activities of identifying the Non-value added process and eliminating them.This dissertation enumerates the VSM improve example of Y series products in D company,first introduced the background of D company,followed by a detailed activities we launched in the whole improvement process,starting from the present status analysis,exposed problems of each link,and then to explore the improvement thinking,scheme the improvement plan and goal setting.The later,we conduct the analysis on the improved value stream mapping.Finally we do comparison between the actual improved area we got and the Goal setting,we found we have already achieved the target.Include: Process cycle time reduced by 50%,raw material inventory reduced by 50%,WIP inventory reduced by 45%,the total material handling distance reduced by32%,output per hour increased by 20%in the process of assembly line hour.The Lean production system building needs a whole company's long-term manpower and material resource investment.It cannot be attain notable results 5 years to 10 years.But the " value stream map analysis technology” is different,we can first focus on a specific product group,and try to do VSM improvement on a single product family's manufacturing process,if it is effective,we can extended to the whole company,That will avoid detours.
