China is now in the key period of industrial transformation.In recent years,more and more corporations go aboard to start production capacity cooperation zone projects as the response to the call of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.Egypt,as a country along the land and maritime Silk Roads,has a good geographical position and draws much attention in the implementation of Chinese production capacity cooperation.Since the cultural differences between those two counties are great,and since production capacity cooperation zone projects are different from abroad construction projects,there are many challenges when those capacity cooperation zone projects are carried out.This dissertation focuses on cross-cultural management in China-Egypt production capacity cooperation zones.In this thesis,differences between Chinese and Egyptian cultures are analyzed according to Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory;cross-cultural management theories are employed to analyze localization management and cross-cultural adaptability;enterprise cultural identity is analyzed with application of organizational culture theory.Since interviewees are of small amount but with much experience,Q methodology is chosen in this study.A questionnaire is used in data collection process,and Principal Component Analysis(PCA)is employed to analyze data.Q samples are obtained via interviewing,literature reviewing and relevant theories concluding.The final data are reached through Q sort to those Q samples by suitable employees of a certain company.According to PCA,three conclusions are made: 1)Q methodology can be used in crossculture research;2)There are four styles of managers in cross-cultural management,and each of them has a different focus;3)Companies need to pay attention to styles of their managers and differences between Chinese and Egyptian cultures to choose an appropriate cross-cultural management strategy.
