The Research Of T Company Product Development Process Optimizing Based On Design Structure Matrix (DSM)

With market globalization and increasingly competition,enterprise's operation core has switched to meet customer multi request,shorten product time to market,promote product qualify etc.from pursuing market scale,product cost.How to optimize product development process and keep product market competitiveness,have become an urgent case to be solved.Product development of T company includes design departments of electron,ID,structure,motor,gear and package,also includes other departments of manufacturing,process,quality and test,these development activities need inter-departmental coordination and cooperation.But “department wall” issue and repeating revise,verify issue are the main cause of long development cycle and low efficiency in T company.Design structure matrix(DSM)as one of common product development process modeling tools,having good performance in product structure integration,iterative analysis,process analysis.So,the paper adopt DMS to research T company product development process optimizing.Firstly,I briefed the situation of power tool industry,T company and its product development process.I indicated process problems by historical data,and identified non-value activities by flow analysis method.Analysis result shows frequent modify & verify activities are the main cause of schedule delay and low efficiency.Secondly,I identified the activities and their linkage to create primary DSM.The process optimizing search is divided to qualitative global planning and quantitative local planning.In global planning,end activities sorting first,then identified coupled activities and hierarchy relationship by accessible matrix and strongly connected matrix.In local planning,adopt fuzzy design structure matrix to run tearing algorithm and obtained coupled activities sequence by information correlation strength.Finally,I adopt “information waiting time” and “information respond value” to estimate optimized process,and raised two actions of implmenting optimized process.The paper adopt literature method to search this subject at home and abroad,used historical data and process analysis method to indicate and analyze the problems of T company product development process,used concurrent engineering(CE)and DSM to optimize development process.The paper's research purpose is to let engineers of manufacturing,process,qualify,test also join in the design work of early phase,to consider all the factors of product lifecycle,to reduce the risk of rework,shorten project schedule,promote efficiency.
