With the development of international trade and the division of international trade, scholars' research on international trade is not only concerned with the study of trade scale, but also the technical complexity of export can more fully describe the status of a country in international trade.A large amount of research has been carried out on economic indicators of trade structure and technical content of export products.Foreign trade will have an impact on labor demand, wage levels and wage gaps within a country or region, and changes in the complexity of export technology can better indicate the situation of a country's foreign trade. Therefore, the increase in the complexity of export technology will inevitably affect the labor force.Demand, causing its wage level to change.Whether this will affect the relative wage gap between skilled and unskilled labor becomes the starting point of this paper. After combing and reviewing the literatures of predecessors, this paper analyzes the impact mechanism of export technology complexity on the wage level of skilled and unskilled laborers from the perspective of international trade and division of labor and technological progress. Then this paper analyzes the export technology complexity of various industries in China's high-tech industry and the corresponding employment situation of labor force and wage gap.Based on the weighting calculation method, this paper measures the technical complexity of high-tech industry export from 2007 to 2016.The results show that the export technology complexity of China's high-tech industry is increasing. The relative wage gap between skilled and unskilled labor is shrinking.Based on the analysis of theory and status quo, this paper empirically analyzes the impact of the export technology complexity of high-tech industry sub-sector on the wage gap between skilled and unskilled labor. The results are as follows: The improvement of the technical complexity of China's high-tech industry export technology will narrow the relative wage gap, indicating that China's technological progress at this stage is more of an unskilled labor-biased technological advancement, and its wage level for unskilled labor is more effective.Foreign direct investment will have a positive impact on the relative wage gap through the technology spillover effect. The degree of openness inhibits the growth of unskilled labor at a certain level. The relative employment of skilled labor eases the tension between supply and demand in the skilled labor market and reduces the relative Wage gap.The technological progress of the high-tech industry has also narrowed the relative wage gap to a certain extent, which indicates that the technological progress promoted by domestic independent research and development is a technological advancement of unskilled labor bias. Finally, based on the results of empirical analysis, this paper puts forward corresponding policy recommendations from the aspects of personnel training, technological progress and distribution system.
